GA II - Straight-Up DemiGod

Hehe, well, hope your computer lives. ;)

I'll let viper take it, as he is next, but if he can't, I'll go. viper, please let us know if you can play, thanks.

Here I come early to say I might have time to play it, but then it looks I'm up here and there.

Do your best and I can take the deathblow :)

Only 5 turns this time.

Turn 0 - 1650 AD
Not looking wonderful, but all is well.

Turn 1 - 1655 AD
Rome dropped off 11 units by our capital. Here goes nothing.
We damage 7 units, and move units for protection.

IBT: We lose 3 infantry, kill 2 tank.

Turn 2 - 1660 AD
Kill 1 tank and 1 infantry.
Sign peace with Rome for 25 gold and world maps.

Turn 3 - 1665 AD
Still not enough money to steal techs.

Turn 4 - 1670 AD
Still not enough money.

Turn 5 - 1675 AD
I believe Greece entered the MA in the interturn, I'm not sure though. At any rate, the only way we can get more land is by insane amounts of cavalry, infantry, and ARTILLERY.

Good luck to gozpel, don't get slaughtered. :)

hmm what can we do now, Romans will slaughter everyone, we have to destroy their spaceship which they would build sooner or later, but we need our island alone first

btw who is up, a little confused about the roster

Ginger_Ale - just played
Bede - on deck
gozpel - UP!
ThERat
viper725 - skipped

Just think of it as viper was skipped, gozpel and Bede switched, and I played in between them. Or don't think about it at all, and just follow the roster.

I also played 5 turns only, the MM'ing can be quite heavy.

(Comment on the peace deal with Rome, you should've gotten a tech for gpt. That's our best chances to get any techs at all, except by stealing.)

Pre-turn - GA seem to given up on this game

MM all cities to maximize income, growth and builds, Join some native workers to cities and it goes from 233gpt to 314gpt.

Rush library in Plainville.

Diplo is a mess, stealing won't help us much atm, so I rather use the money we have. Buy incense from Greece for wines and 280g and we can lower luxtax to zero, which gives us 405gpt.

I will steal later.

Deals expire next turn with Portugal, plant a city near Hlobane, their rubber city and move some troops over there and to other cities around that area.

1680AD - Rome start SETI.

Reneg peace with Portugal, get Steel and 742g for 101gpt, horses and saltpeter.

1685AD - Reneg peace with Greece, get Combustion for 134gpt.

See that we haven't built Military Academy yet? Start that in Paris.

1690AD - Try immediate steal from Viking and succeed, take Flight.

Oops, built a reg cav. Very clever.

Join the last native workers to cities.

Give them 2 luxes and saltpeter for their spices.

1695AD - Plainvilles borders expands and I sneak in a city next to an oilsource.

Start building a bunch of bombers.

1700AD - We build our first 2 bombers.

Military Academy is done in 3 turns, we want armies.

We can buy rubber from Rome for 2 luxes, but I don't really want to help them with their happiness.

Peace-deal with Vikings is up in 4 turns, reneg and get us Motorized Transportation, if you haven't stolen that yet. Watch out who you steal from.

If there is a chance to poach the rubber SW of Plainville, do it. We have a settler somewhere.

Got it. Never say die, say I. Fat lady ain't yodeling yet.

We're doing 400gpt something, so we are fine. The thing is called Micro-Managing!

Somehow I missed this one, sorry. Playing now.

Bede said:
Somehow I missed this one, sorry. Playing now.

And here it is:

1700-1750AD

Peaceful times tending to business and building bombers and Stock Exchanges (we need Wall Street).

Sold some wines and silks to Rome for 70gpt. It's going to feed his research but as he's wearing a brownshirt I don't think the effect will be any worse than not doing the deal and we can use the cash.

Founded Akron on the rubber isle in the teeth of Roman Modern Armor, then three turns later the Greeks finally held Hlobane long enough so I could put a settler down and steal Henry's rubber with Firestone.

Built a cathdral in Marseilles so we could have bombers in 2 and save 100gpt in entertainment tax and then Lyons grew and rioted :spank:. In other towns we can use cops or engineers to control happpiness and boost production but Lyons and Marseilles have no room to fiddle and keep their production up.

Greeks and Prortugese fought several battles in the south and traded Hlobane back and forth every other turn.

At the very end of my rule the two classical nations declared war on the Vikings so now may be the time to re-negotiate the peace treaty with Ragnar, getting Mass Production in the deal, then plant a spy and try for a safe steal of Motorized. There is enough in the bank to do both.

Our Air Force is based in Strasbourg just 'cause it was out of the way of Romans wandering the territory. Might want to throw some infantry in there, or even an Infantry Army.

Very nice work Bede! :)

You know, this game is not lost yet. A whole bunch of bombers and a few carriers with defense, plus a few transports and a couple of armies, we can actually give Caesar some grief.

I really think we can win this yet. Well, it depends on Rome's space race, if we can hinder that, we can win.

got it will play either tonight or tomorrow afternoon

Pre-Turn
yucks all our foes are fascists :vomit: we need to rid the planet of that
fiddle around with the settings, can get 1st army 1 turn earlier
change marseilles to heroic epic as a pre build for wall street
6 turns left on deals with portugal, I think we should join in the fight once greece gets the upper hand
gpt trades with vikings are out of questions

1. a safe steal is 3000g + so I trade 2800g for Mass production (at least we get it and vikings need some money to fight Romans)
I successfully plant spies in Stockholm and Rome :)
a check shows me that nobody built any spaceship parts yet
Portugese are gassed, I will steal from them next
Roman military is scary including 2 tactical nukes, 161 MI and 93 TOW

IT Scandinavia and Rome sign peace :(

2.nth much

IT our Viking spy has been captured

4 enough money for careful steal from Portugese and we get tanks

IT wall street comes in,
5 income now at 725gpt

afterthoughts
deal with portugal is up soon. I recommend not to renew and go for war as soon as possible to grab some cities. army is still empty waiting for tanks to fill it, we have 2 cities building a tank every 2 turns
Portugese are suffering and we should grab their cities and replace them, do not forget to build settlers

we need to think how to eliminate the Romans, many armies to take out Rome with their spaceship?
so far nth built since they all in fascism, that will slow them down
btw if you swap a tile once in Paris you can speed up the army build from 7 to 6

Ouch, Rome looks strong. Glad to see we built wall street. Tanks are very important. We can see how many parts Rome has built, so I'd build a couple transports so that if we have to raze their capital for their spaceship, we would be able to do it.

viper is up, I'm on deck.

IBT- Pay Alex 212 gold plus Wines so he keeps giving Incense.
1
IBT- Portugal wants to renew peace. No, thanks.
2
Lisbon razed. Emerita razed.
IBT- Continue peace with the Greeks. Rome builds SETI.
3
Begin Heroic Epic, we could use some armies anyway. Buy Medicine from Greece for 1749 gold and a World Map. Raze Oporto. Leira will probably be captured by Alex.
IBT- Renew spice deal with Scandinavia for Silks, Wines, Saltpeter, and 212 gold.
4
Raze Sagres. I'd sign peace at this point but Henry won't talk. Calais founded. Begin several settler builds and rush 1 or 2.
IBT- Intombe riots.
5
Burgundy founded. Le Havre founded. Caen founded. Turin founded. Limoges founded. Boulogne founded. We've pretty much got all the land covered, one settler will take that last little part. Henry still doesn't want to talk. Steal Scientific Method from him (safely.) Rome is building six parts, but has completed none.
