Game Crashes when loading save

Hello.
I was playing a nice game as Byzantium. Advanced to the Industrial era (~1850AD)
I quick saved the game as usual, and after I came back to play the game, It crashes.
Why is that? What happened? Is it because I use mods? (I used it throughout the whole game) I tried to make an new game, and the game works... what happened to the save?

When you went to load the save, did you enter through the mods menu and click forward through that screen to load the same mods and then proceed forward to load the save?

Yes. I did.

Same problem, but I don't have any mods installed. The game crashes as soon as i click the load saved game button before i can actually see the list of saved games. It's been like this for a while. Unplayable.

I'm running into a similar issue.
Playing off of PTWE Huge Map, cities placed with World Builder, build into a scenario with ModBuddy, plays great for 70 to 100 turns, but when I try to load a saved game later (yes, through the Mods menu, been doing this for a while) Bam! CTD.
