Game crashes

Intel Q9300, 2,5 GHz Quad
4 GB RAM
2 8800 GTX SLI (driver 258.96)
Vista Ultimate 32 SP 2

Civ 5 dx 10/11
Steam Version (deluxe)


I had started this game this morning and it crashed after a few moments when I was in the game. Completely. After trying it again and yet another crash, I installed the newest drivers. After restarting the game went fine for some turns. Then again it crashed. Can someone help me making it more stable?

First thing I'd try would be disabling SLI. Many are reporting that Civ V is unstable with GFX cards in SLI or Crossfire.

That made it worse. So it crashed at the loading of a save game.
