game fails to install.

civbeyond thesword fails to install or tells me to abort installation after I install the game. I have 3.19 to and it didn't work either when I installed it. please give me step by step instructions to properly install the game however I am thinking it might be because of my labtop witch is what I installed the game on. please help. its a new lab top. its dell inspirion 15 3000series.

The first thread in this forum, above the line in the "stickies" section is: "Sticky: Installing Civ 4 on Windows 7/Vista (32-/64-bit)". If you are using either Windows 7 or 8, I would suggest following the procedure spelled out there first. If it still does not work, post the message that you are getting when it fails here.
