Game mechanics improvements

I would like to see some improvements to improve some basic game mechanics of playing:

1) Allow a mechanism to convert a multiplayer game (direct IP or other) to a Play by Email game. It's an obvious use case ... There is almost nothing to do early, so the game turns go very fast early -- annoying to have to email each of these turns. But, as the game goes on, it can be more fun (and practical) to play by email, because there are lots of things to do.

2) Review AI turns that affected me an my units -- when playing PBEM or hotseat, things happen when I am not able to view them. Currently, there's no way for me to go back and see what happened. So if an AI unit came over and killed my unit, I have no idea what happened -- how many units? What was left?

3) Make log of world events reviewable. Currently, if someone founds a religion or builds a wonder or whatever, the notice comes on the screen ... but, in a couple of seconds, it goes away. What if I wasn't paying attention? What if I looked away from the screen at that time? I went to the bathroom ... How an I find out what I might have missed?

4) Provide a way to adjust city production from the city index screen. So, if I want to optimize my civilization for tech, let me click on the city row and adjust the science output of the city -- the game calculating what is actually possible with the tiles available from the city. Let me create and uncreate specialists from the city index screen. Let me open a view of the city from city index screen to remind myself quickly what is in there, make an adjustment or two, and then come right back to the index.

I'm sure there are others that bug me ... but this is what I can think of right now ...

Civ4 has a log function, both of world events and a deeper combat log. Have you ever used it?

Oh, sorry ... I've never seen this ... and my friend, who has been playing a lot, hasn't seen it either.

But now that I know it exists ... I can seek it out. Thanks!

It's the button in the top left, with the open book and a pencil. The combat log is next to it (the rocket).
