He meant "why do you think the show-runners had me in this episode for?"

He can like see the future and crap. Kind of a stupid cop out to make him relevant again, since so far all he's done is get people killed protecting him, been bait for the night king and revealed jon is a targaryan which really didn't amount to much in the end.

It got him the throne and the north for his sister. Pretty jerkish move all in all :)

To me, it rather highlight the tendencies of vested viewers to rationalize. That's probably the reason why some took huge pains to look up whatever could support the "it makes sense if you dig deep enough", while others (including myself) simply saw it was nonsensical.
I'm pretty sure he explicitely said he actually can't see the future, but the past and present.

so he was the man who knew he'd be king

Tyrion looked at him with an inquisitive raised eyebrow when he said that, I interpreted it to mean he was destined to be king and that got me wondering why he didn't give people a heads up. Or maybe he couldn't because of some prime directive.

I know one of the prequels or spinoff talked about Yiti, and would probably have bbits of 4 and 2 in it. I want them to go that way. They have the Grey Wastes and the Five Forts and their own Lions of the Night or w/e to deal with out there.

He didn't know he would be king, but that was the plan. Which would have been nice to have been able to see more of the plotting and execution beyond, I'm here and it's time.

it is kinda amusing the little kid Jaime Lannister shoved out the window because he witnessed him and Cersei having sex became the king while they both died.

    I actually liked the finale.

True, after Daenerys was killed, the wee problem of having a ravenous dragon, fanatical Unsullied and bloodthirsty Dothraki horde all simultaneously off the leash resolved itself ... rather too easily.
Likewise, Dorne and Iron Islands just shrugging and accepting Bran's authority felt far too simple.
Also, the Wall seemed in remarkably good shape after being breached at the end of the last season. :hmm:

But I don't think the directors could have done much better with what little screentime they had.
    8/10 from me.

They only breached the wall in one place.

...and it was at Eastwatch-by-the-Sea apparently. Somehow I thought it happened at Castle Black.
    Well, no inconsistency there then.

Yeah, what happened to the Dothraki ?
Did they just leave on ships ?
Are they now Bronn's problem in the Reach ?
Or, and I think this is quite likely, will they just kill each other in an internal war of succcession ?

We did get a shot of Yara and the Dornish lord after Sansa just announces the North is dindependence. I don't think the issue is really settled.

The show is over. Imagining future episodes that somehow make sense of this ending is rather pointless, no? :)

Scuttlebutt is that HBO offered them far more episodes but the showrunners only wanted 6.

But yeah, the petition is rather misconceived. To resolve the major points in an natural and believable way, you need more (full) seasons, not a remake of season 8.

I am not interested in Sothyros or Yi-Ti but Doom of Valyria :love::love::love::love::love::love::love::love::love:
However I like the idea of Roberts Rebellion or Targaryans' arrival

It has been acknowledged but overshadowed. I would imagine that over time the complaints about the narrative direction and writing will spread themselves over the series (or at least the season) as a whole, rather than being pinned on individual episodes. The finale currently has a 4.4/10 rating on IMDB, which is patently absurd, when it would seem the complaints that rating is based upon have nothing to do with the quality of the finale as an episode.

4.4 is a bit rough but it wasn't a great episode. Thought it was better than episode 3,4,5.
