Game slows down at random times

Hi everybody I've been having problems with Civilization 4 BtS.
My laptop specifications meet and surpass the requirements for Civilization 4 quite a bit.
AMD Turion 64 X2 1.90 Ghz
2GB RAM
NVIDIA GeForce Go 7150M Video card

The game runs quite smoothly (with the lowest graphics/detail possible) however after about 15 minutes the game interface becomes incredibly slow. Moving around the map is incredibly slow as well as moving my mouse around. It's like the game's going at half speed. However, the computer's turn wait is actually quite fast, no more than 3-5 seconds.

Interestingly enough, after this happens, every once in a while after I end my turn the game runs smoothly again temporarily. Then after a couple of turns, I end my turn and the game becomes unbearably slow for a long while.

Anyone have any ideas why this is happening? I've included my dxdiag if that's any help.
Thanks!

your graphics card sucks :)
really ;) the problem is that it has less than 64MB on-board memory but uses a whopping 735 MB (of your 2GB) of RAM - which means that it has to do all the 3D calculations with your RAM memory and takes away this memory from other processes such as the game...
So the card is actually quite good - but not for a game that in itself needs 2GB of memory routinely to run smoothly - graphics and game engine compete for this here and I guess you start seeing a lot of swapping to and from the hard drive (which is too slow for good graphics) because of this.

That said: try getting a newer driver for the card... The newest NVIDIA driver is from this month - yours is from august and it might actually help...
