there was bunch of game speed discussions going around month or more ago, i personally didnt care at that point because i didnt play supper slow games, but since v23 and new game speeds introductions, i just miss good old epic speed

now epic takes 4-6 turns for normal tech, when it used to be 2-3,
new normal speed takes 1-2 which is way too fast, and 4-6 ends up being bit too slow,
why was there need to change it and why old speed wasnt left intact
 
go into caveman2cosmos>assets>xml>gameinfo>CIV4GameSpeedInfo.xml and you can change around epic speed yourself.

But I don't recommend it, because it will screw with the balance that I worked on last version. Your choice though, you can make it whatever you want for yourself.

And I am NOT going to try to balance Normal, 1000 turns is way too fast a speed for how much stuff we have in C2C. Epic is the fastest speed being supported.
 
I demand to be known now as "The Savior of Epic".

just saw that research time increases with each era.. at least from first to second, jump is huge..
why was there need for that?

Because there are half as many techs in the Ancient Era as in the Prehistoric Era. I spent a lot of time determining the proper ratios. It was changed after V23 was released.
 
ancient era was already slower compared to prehistoric(at least in real world time ), now its 3 times as slower.. my last proper game, was on v23, and i felt that game was won by middle ancient era, that bar keeps going down and down, when you add more techs and more eras, it shouldnt slow down, it should speed up, so game doesnt take you month to complete on "fastest supported " game speed , i can only imagine if you play it 2 hours a day, half a year would pass.. and you would restart every month just so you can take advantage of all new stuff in next version

Playing anything slower than Epic would be literally impossible to balance, the amount of content we have would be prohibitive on those speeds.

did you meant faster? because you said epic is fastest speed being supported
