Are you his descendant or something?
Firaxis specifically chose him because they wanted an "evil" leader. :p

I'm out of the loop on the "crown misinterpretation" thing. What crown are we talking about?

If the leaks are right, which I hope they are not. Picking Kristina of Sweden is like picking Quisling for Norway.

Apparently, some people think the leaker mistook the Byzantine leader for a Hungarian one, because of similar crowns or something.

I think they should add a "difficulty based" option to the 'natural disasters intensity' options - when selected, on say diety they hit the human player harder than the AI (and vv on settler).

I hope the diplomacy overhaul includes a mechanism for 'my Ally is sacking the city state I'm sovereign of'

For that matter, I hope at the least they've take a cue from their 'no religion' civ list and made a "doesn't conquer city states list". Shaka - sure conquer away. It's pretty ridiculous to see John Curtin going after them though given his agenda (and I'd add Ghandi, Robert the Bruce, Poundmaker to that list)

I know historically they stop at two expansions but...

The future era is something completely new. They could easily add a space travel expansion that continues further into the future. It almost seemed like they meant to do that for Civ 5 but decided to release Beyond Earth as a spin-off instead. Remember they even released Starships that seemed like a second thought.

I don't think there is going to be a third expansion, so i'm a bit disappointed about Canada.

100% agreed. Like I said earlier, she's every bit as poor a choice as Atahualpa and Roxelana were from the last "leak." She and the very dubious pick of Eleanor are why I'm still not convinced that the leak was completely accurate (i.e., I think they slipped in some disinformation for kicks--it's obvious at this point that they did have inside information).

Civ5 had a couple DLC after the first expansion. They weren't civs, but that doesn't mean they couldn't be this time around. There's still some hope. But I'll also be disappointed if Canada and Christina of Sweden turn out to be true--and Eleanor of France more than any of them.

Nay, a Sassanid or at least an Arsacid.

Back from my doctor's appointment and lunch with my ex. Now I see a 19 page thread to catch up on. :)

Anyone have a link to the video so I can watch the part after I left?

Because the cinematic included what is almost certainly the Byzantines, while the (so-far highly accurate) leak didn't but instead included Hungary, I speculated that (possibly) part of the predictions were made based on only some visual cues, in which case the Byzantine crown could have been mistaken for the holy crown of Hungary which is almost identical (since the Byzantines gave it to them as a gift).

I still think a unique governor creates a strong possibility of Djoser as an alternate leader for Egypt (as has been much requested) with Imhotep. Inca could be another candidate with a unique apu governor.

As bad as Quisling or Atahualpa? You jest?

Obviously not as succesful or iconic as some other Swedish monarchs, but Firaxis have opted for those with interesting personalities anyway so.

    Could also be Canada.

"Coureur des bois" were like the Diplomat governor, going off to live in native villages for years at a time to strengthen French-native relations, coming back fully "nativized".

Either way the idea of a civ-unique governor is hecka interesting.
