State-sanctioned horse rustling. What a concept.
That was such a fun mechanic in Civ 4.
We have updated the Features Thread with confirmation of the Maori/Polynesian Civ
Well, I'm sure their portraitists flattered them, but standards of beauty have changed...(I remember being horrified the first time I read Lady Susan when the titular character was described as being "still attractive for her age" and "well preserved"--she's 35. )
Not to mention what no one at the time mentioned because it was universal, like smallpox scars, foul breath, and the delicate effluvia that comes from not bathing more than once every few weeks while wearing 14 layers of clothing daily...
And the well-known 'photographic warping of appearances' which has led to a dramatic change in what is considered attractive: Peter Paul Rubens' models would never make it onto the Milan catwalk today, given that any one of them would take up the entire catwalk...
That's what happens when your beauty standard becomes "anorexic with implants."
Moderator Action: Please let's get back to topic, this is not the direction we want to go. Thanks.
You: Whatya doin'?
Me: Oh, nothing. Talking 'bout Gathering Storm while under a Tornado Watch.
No playing with the new features before the rest of us Eagle !!!!
(seriously: I hope everything is fine)
Watching the radar. I think the tornado is going to miss me by 5 or 10 miles.
Yikes! We're not supposed to have tornados around here this time of year! Now you've got me watching the radar as I have friends and family not too far east of you.
Speaking of weather events, do we know if we get advanced warning, and, if so, what we can do to prepare? Obviously, no time to build a dam if flooding is imminent, but are there other things? (In the upcoming expansion, I mean, not real life.)
It would have to be very artificial, since the smallest time interval in the game is 1 year, and at that time scale you're really talking about Climate, not Weather. Could have a sort of 'Old Farner's Almanac' or 'Priests of the Weather God are predicting' mechanism that tells you that "the storm season will be really bad over ___ City for the Next X Turns", "We're Due For a Drought". Of course, if there's nothing you can do about it for most of the game, what's the point?
Btw, did anyone else notice that in the lifestream you couldnt ignore the move-your-army request anymore?
I did not. That would be really annoying, especially if the declare war response still makes it a surprise war, and if they haven't improved/clarified the circumstances that make you in violation of the promise. Also, a tracker of what promises you've made and the deadline for keeping them would be really nice...
What? Expose key game information in the UI? Don't talk crazy, man!
Next you'll be asking for unit list or an event window, or other such madness!
Sometimes you need a waifu and a bro but only have a 2 seater bike
I'm not interested in Kristina as waifu, I just think she seems like a cool, interesting historical figure (not even necessarily to lead a civ, but I don't mind it).
Did it miss, or are you still watching?
It dissipated before it came close. Got some flash flooding though. Running the dehumidifiers in the basement.
Glad to hear you are okay!
