Gay pride group files human rights complaint against town

Now this whole Gay Pride thing is now showing itself as just a big joke with constant crying wolf such as this.

How is an isolated incident in a small Nova Scotia town "constant crying wolf"? If you think it's a big joke, I suggest you place yourself in a minority that is constantly prejudiced against and who lack rights that other people take for granted. See how you like it.

There is no human rights violation here, it's just a group of people whining because the city told them that they the Government said that they wont fly their flag

Before you go off flying off the handle, I'd suggest taking a couple of chill pills and ease up the knee jerk reactions. Is a city that wont fly a certan flag prejudiced? No. They still have the right to fly their flag in their own property. The reason why I think that it's a big joke are their whinings and wolf cryings when they dont get their way and blame it as a violation of human rights.

he wants to know how one incident constitutes "wolf crying". Though I agree with your viewpoint, I disagree with the idea that gays aren't discriminated against.

I agree, but I can see that this is an unimportant local news story that involves very few homosexuals. You are writing off millions of people based on one flag loon.

The reason why I think that it's a big joke are their whinings and wolf cryings when they dont get their way and blame it as a violation of human rights.

The article mentions one person. Don't judge the entire movements based on the actions of one dolt.

Why was this not labeled a civil rights case? Human rights!? Are you kidding?

I don't think I would consider it a civil rights issue either, but at least that would be somewhere NEAR the realm of reality.

It could be labeled as loon rights case. Only flags on public buildings anywhere should be national, state/provincial/regional, and local. And everyone is free to hoist whatever flag he wants on his own property.

Prejudiced against sure, but what rights do gays not have? This isn't the 1800s. They can vote, run for congress and do all the things that straights can do. The only thing they cannot do, at least in the US, is get married to members of the same sex, and to be a dick, neither can straights, so they both have the same rights :crazyeye:

If you don't want to split hairs then the only right they don't have is marriage. That is hardly "rights" and hardly a right that straight people take for granted. You're talking as if they aren't allowed to use the same bathroom or eat at the same restaurants.

Marriage, and all its economical bonuses would be the main one. Adoption (in some areas) would be another...

I'm sure if, say, America banned Mexicans from marrying one another then no-one would have a problem calling it a civil rights violation.

You're talking as if they aren't allowed to use the same bathroom or eat at the same restaurants.

I get irritable when people judge an entire group based on the actions of a few... but I at no point insinuated the above.

I'm in the first wave of people defending queers in most situations, but there is no human rights violation here. This is just whining that makes reasonable people look bad.

Point stated.

Point demonstrated.

This isn't gay pride. This is standard run-of-the-mill idiocy. Nothing to see here.

Im with Ms Duke.

Letting people have freedoms is good. Forcing people to fly a flag they dont want to is reducing the amount of freedom.

If they win I'm going to demad my team fly a w flag any time the cubs win.

If the government refuses to fly Cubs flags (even without a victory), your human rights are being violated. :)

yeah and if these guys win, I will demand that my town flies the desi pryde flag

I demand that they fly the hacker flag, too!
