Geforce 315

I've spotted a real sweet deal on a computer in town, i3 processer with GeForce 315 graphics. I'm clueless when it comes to graphics cards, and my limited research leads me to believe this will be well strong enough to run Civ 5 - would I be right?

Anyone have any experience with this card? I'm not made of money, so it's kind of a big deal to buy a comp of this newness, and I don't want to waste my money. Graphics don't have to be on high settings, just smooth enough to play - unlike my laptop which runs, but is jerky and unresponsive.

I have no idea what those passmark clowns are testing, but it has certainly not much relevance for 3d gaming

Nevertheless, the 310m would be only good for low settings in Civ5.
You would want something with a mobility 5650/6650, GT420/GT525 or better with an i3/5 at ~2,5GHz. Something like this.

All that chart tells me is the 315 is the top of something.

I think I'm gonna get this actually, which has a HD5770, and is actually cheaper. Friend says it will run any game, pretty much.

Yes, its on top. Competing with 10 years old cards. Radeon 9700 pro.. and alike.

That one looks like a solid all-round system. Should have no problems with Civ5. The video card is only middle-of-the-road-ish for a desktop, do do not expect that everything will run at maximum settings

Just finished my first game at all high settings, and it was fantastic! Got a little jerky when there were several animations all at once, but otherwise perfect. Between turn times never went over 5 seconds, even at the end. YAY
