If there's one thing I've learnt about mapmakers by playing the occasional GotM, it's that map makers are evil.

    For Ronnie:

Here is the link to a turn 79 projection, where we should be in 16 turns if all goes well and we don't have to alter the CDP plan.

Here is a link to the latest simulation, it is correct to the start of turn 62, so to keep it up to date all you have to do is go to the Current Domesting Plan (CDP) Thread and play through the turns as shown in the spreadsheet. A new sim will be posted fairly often, but not after every turn; that would be too time consuming. Once a week is the most likely update period.

    Thread from the dead...

Just some quick numbers for people if they are interested.

If we were to start research next turn at 100%, we would get masonry eot t90, and then research:(assuming we met Saturn, and they have no techs other than CoL that we have)

    1. Maths, eot t93 (23 base beakers overflow)
    2. Alphabet eot t94 (30 base beakers overflow)
    3. CoL eot t95 (54 base beakers overflow)

To put that into perspective...we can research any two of those three (plus masonry) before our gold runs out. Maybe even get part way through the third...unless we were to build research in IS (means losing the GLH) or CK (means limited workers for the west).

That means that when we find Saturn, we ideally want to get a deal in place for CoL immediately, and we can commit to researching Alphabet if need be.

If, OTOH, they already have alphabet, we can research maths, do a trade for CoL and Alphabet, and research Currency ourselves by eot t99 (would require both optional prerequisites, ie Maths AND Alphabet, but would not depend on other teams researching it first)

So...pray we meet Saturn in the next 3 turns or so...

Well, if they don't want to trade, we can still hit lib around t140 if we bulb. I doubt they can do that.

    MM for next turn:

IS: move 2 unirrigated grasshills to coast, for just this turn. At the end of the turn (and the GE is born) place the engineer onto a hill, and one of the coastal tiles onto the other hill.

FC: on t101 move from the grass hill to the plains hill (trades 1 food for 2 gold).

JD workers: chop/irrigate both sugars then cottage the last grassland; then head to the hills.

Eastern cities: Change Sunburst from a grass forest to a plains hill forest (my mistake). Gets the granary eot t108 now (one turn later than planned...). T101 change GM from gold to clams.

Eastern Workers: move to a forest (one per each forest in the borders) and chop (should get maths before we finish the chops, but cancel after each turn anyway). Then the two workers adjacent to the wheat irrigate; the third chops the remaining forest in GM (all three forests in GMs borders should go to GM) and the next turn helps finish the irrigation. Then two workers chop the two remaining forests, and the third worker goes back to JD. 0 worker turns wasted and all granaires and lighthouses up by t109

OO workers: road with one worker, move to the axe with the other. Turn after road, and free worker move to the pig, and the road that. City due t102.

The south west, well, handle that on a turn by turn basis.

Need to decide on where to put Moai, 2 most obvious choices are FC (makes for a 40 hpt city at size 15) and GM (averaging out at 22.5 hpt if not working the gold but also takes longer to set up). I think I'm leaning quite heavily in favour of FC tbh, it does have 7 coastal/2 ocean tiles to work.
