Hey, I think I make decent arguments.
Yo do, but they don't know you're really joking.
Actually, I had a clue considering Perfection is rarely serious, but well, since there was an opportunity to fight...
But whatever, don't base on me your stereotypes of the French people. I'm just an idiot. I've also thought this thread could be a fun opportunity to show some other faces of Paris. Personally I love the point of view on the Seine Heights in Saint-Cloud when coming from the A13 motorway. Unfortunately, I haven't found a picture on google.
Here's a picture of Vincennes, which was also mentionned in Lankou's first post. Vincennes is among the 5 most densely populated municipalities in Europe (together with Paris and 3 other Paris suburbs). Here's a picture of its streetlife with its medieval castle in the background:
What are you talking about? If movies and TV have taught me anything, it is that from every spot in Paris, in any direction, you see the Eiffel Tower.
 Milford (19)
Milford, New Hampshire
Milford, New Jersey
Milford (town), New York
Milford (village), New York
Sorry, my sick mind just couldn't help it!
Can't Yanks choose proper original names for cities? New York... Pff.
New New New New New New New New New New New New New New New New New New New New New New New New New New New New Manchester
I can locate the bolded ones. Without dots, I'm sure they will be slightly off.
I know very well where Versailles is, but I've never consider locating it on a map, though.
Funny, seeing as how whoever chose the name was, at that time, English!
May I sig this?
Dear God, what is up with Wisconsin having the same names of places in the state? Five times or more in a few cases.
Bear in mind that the glorious metropolis of Versailles, MO is properly pronounced VERSAILS.
Leave it to Missour-uh to change the pronunciation of places.
I believe Massachusetts is the nation's leader in towns named Athol.
We have the most Athols!
Of course! The only one I would have a problem with is Charleroi, I've never heard of it, but nearly all of the rest I could place on a blank map of France within 30 seconds.
Of course! Why wouldn't you? As long as you don't invent a quote, then there's no issue.
not your St. Cloud, I wasn't even aware of a European St. Cloud.
How'd I do?
Can you tell me where the following are located?
well, the funny thing is that all these town are in the US too...
By the way, there's also a US state capital being named montpelier.
Actually, there are two neighbouring municipalities being called Saint-Cloud and La-Celle-Saint-Cloud. Both have 30,000 inhabitants making a total of 60,000 people for an area 8 times smaller than that place in Wisconsin.
Separate names with a comma.
