since some of those were requested in the german civforum i decided to post them in the english forum, too.

17.06.06: Update!

those are older german flags. on the pic from the left to he right:

1. Prussia [update]
2. Black-Red-Gold with Iron Cross [update]
3. War Flag of the Weimar Republic (used 1919 - 1921) [update]
4. War Flag of the Kaiserreich [update (only button)]
5. Black-White-Red
6. Black-White-Red with Iron Cross
7. German Eagle (Weimar Republic and FRG) [update]
8. Prussian Eagle [update]

to 7.: the yellow background is actually white, but i used till a week ago the hrrdn-eagle (holy roman empire of german nation) and therefor the hrrdn-yellow (R,G,B 255,207,0 = 1, 0.81, 0). As i tested this flag i forgot to set bWhiteFlag = 1 and discovered that the white was yellow but the black eagle and his red claws and beak stayed as they were. As this looked good i decided to not change it. If you want also use a yellow background with this eagle (and so a yellow civ-colour for germany) you have to change the CIV4ColorVals.xml and add the colours:
PHP:
<ColorVal>
            <Type>COLOR_PLAYER_hrrdn</Type>
            <fRed>1</fRed>
            <fGreen>0.81</fGreen>
            <fBlue>0</fBlue>
            <fAlpha>1.00</fAlpha>
        </ColorVal>
then add the COLOR_PLAYER_hrrdn (or how ever you will name it) in the CIV4PlayerColorInfos.xml or overwrite the existing one. and don't forget to leave the bWhiteFlag = 0.

but on request i could also make the background simply yellow and you can play with germany with it's usual gray :)

/edit: as maxriga posted, the FLagDECAL_SWR_EK.dds was bugged. i fixed it so it should show as it was ment to.

since in 1901 prussia was part of the Kaiserreich i would say flag 4, 5 or 6. and thanks that you use my flags in your mod :) you do a great work with your scenarios and mods :goodjob:

ok, try this one. for some reason the flag was allways black....but now it have to be fixed. and don't forget to set the bWhiteFLag = 1.

i will try the one with the dragon. i don't know if i have time tomorrow, but i think on wednesday i can do it. do you want it with or without teamcolor? and when, which color? then i can do the button in the same color as the flag will have.

Oh, I found your picture of the dragon flag so beautiful that I made flag and button immediately. I hope that I don't bother anyone.

Hm,

The Buttons and flags from both of you look very good :goodjob:

Maybe just one thing though:

The flags that are used ingame look somewhat stretched, maybe you should rescale the .dds file. This is a problem I encountered myself when I was doing leaderheads for the Warhammer Fantasy Battle Mod - I had to do the .dds files in 512X512 but in the game they seem to be around 512X650 (resolution 1024X768) so I ended up doing the files in 512X650 and then, when they were finished I scaled them to 512X512, without keeping the proportions.

generally all the flags and leaderhead-pics has to be stretched by 20-30% in the width and to get a square picture you have to adding the picture in height and then resized to the 128x128, 512x512, what ever-format.

example: a normal-looking pic which i will use as a flag will have the dimensions of 230x230. to get the same look of the pic as flag i have to add 20-30% in width, i use allways 30%, wich makes the picture to 299x230. to get a square picture i add in heigt 96 pixels. as a flag-picture has to be more in the underpart i add...lets say...54 pixels above and the rest 42 pixels under the picture. then i have a 299x299 pic, resize it to 128x128 and test how it looks in the game.

i learnd this technique in the adding a civ-tutorial.
with this technique i try to get the best looking results. if you look at the original flags they are also stretched by 20-30% in the width.

These flags look great :thumbsup: Heck, I'm half tempted to put them in game for several different (non-German) civs just to see them all in action. Awesome job.

@rabbit: thanks a lot!
hehe.....just use them as you want ;):D

since i had a little bit time i have done a little update at the graphics! :D
