Everyone wants to flood us with scarry foreigners and we need to stop the sinister ploy now or scary foreigners will take over - also think of the children.
I find it truly fascinating how anyone could look at the aims of the AfD and come to such a conclusion. Sure, if you equate the aim of maintaining Germany's cultural heritage and identity - which is not based on skin colour or ethnicity, but on liberal and secular values - with "xenophobia", then you might have a point. But then every country in the world would be xenophobic.
Ok, let's go through your list.
- need to combat civil arbitration according to Sharia
Honestly, I can't fathom that you would seriousy mention this point as a sign of xenophobia. Do you even know what sharia entails? Where have you been living in the last 10 years? According to sharia, women are denied basic rights. Apostates should be killed, as should blasphemers. Non-Muslims should live under submission. Thieves should have their hands chopped off. Adulterers should be stoned to death. Homosexuals should be pushed off roof tops. This is hideous and evil. If there is any goal we should pursue, it is to fight and eradicate such unspeakable malevolence.
- need to functionally abolish political asylum
They do not say that. All the AfD says is that national and European laws regarding immigration should be abided by. This is common sense, and is also the position of the other 27 member states of the EU.
- need to remove most current aslum seekers as soon as possible for the good of our children
What the AfD points out is that most asylum seekers are not refugees, which is just a fact.
- need to control our borders as Australia is doing and stop Schengen
Every country in the world controls its borders. This is the minimal basis to survive as a nation. Are you seriously suggesting that wanting to keep track of who is entering your country is "xenophobic"?
- need to reduce monetary and other assistance to asylum seekers
It is no secret that the millions of migrants want to go to Germany and Sweden because these countries have the most generous welfare systems. Even comparatively well-off countries like Serbia have asked Germany to reduce their gratuity for migrants, since it is higher than the average wage in Serbia, and leads to many Serbs leaving their country for Germany. We must avoid that huge masses of people immigrate into our welfare systems. This is just economic common sense.
Furthermore, it has been estimated that the migrant crisis may cost around 50 billion Euros a year. Every single migrant will cost about 500,000 Euros (conservatively speaking). This is far beyond what even a well-off country like Germany can bring up. That's not even going into the question of
why Germany (aka the tax payers) should be paying billions to people from all over the world, just because they decide they want to live here. It's not like we don't have our own problems to solve, like our own 12.5 million people who live in poverty.
- need to remove those not granted asylum immediately
Obviously. If someone is denied asylum, he has no right to stay and should be removed. What else would you suggest?
- loads of references to immigrants breaking laws, being non-integrateable or lying during their immigration proceedings
That certain migrant demographics (e.g. from the Maghreb countries) are strongly overrepresented in crime statistics is a fact. That Muslim immigrants tend to be difficult to integrate is a fact (and it certainly won't help to let even more in, reducing the pressure for them to integrate). That migrants on a large scale are lying about their countries of origin, as well as about their age, is, likewise, a fact.
- calling out multi-culturalism as failed and claiming that all other parties are trying to force multi-culturalism on us through allowing unfettered immigration
Multiculturalism
has failed! This is not new. Several years ago Western European politicians admitted that, including Sarkozy, Cameron, and, surprise, Merkel. The failure can be witnessed by the failed integration of particularly Muslim immigrants and the countless parallel societies throughout Europe, many of which are no-go zones or where sharia is in practise, with many of its detrimental outcomes.
A few years ago, migration was comparatively low. If it had already failed then, how on earth could anyone expect it to succeed by letting in millions of further migrants, mostly from Islamic countries?
- foreign Imams should be denied entry
In light of the fact that hate preachers and Islamists sponsored by Saudi Arabia, Turkey etc have infiltrated German mosques and are spreading their wicked ideology of Muslim superiority, sharia, and disdain of the West, this is long overdue. By the way, Austria did the same a year ago, and the step was well-regarded by the local Muslim organisations.
- public foreign language courses allowing students at school to learn the language of the place they or their family hail from need to be abolished
The basis for integration is the ability to speak the German language. Migrants should be treated like everyone else, including what they learn at public schools. They are free to learn other languages in their free time, but it is they who have to adopt to the German school system, not the other way around. Besides, why should the tax payer pay for migrants to learn Arabic or other languages when this has been proven to impede integration?
By the way, the CDU shares this opinion. Does this make them "xenophobic"?
- Burka needs to be outlawed everywhere, headscarves in schools and civil service
Absolutely. It is an utter disgrace that in 2016 tens of millions of women are forced to live in cloth bags. That the burka isn't banned yet in Germany is scandalous. That is not going into the practical problems of not being able to see a woman's face when she enters a bank, at court, in a traffic inspection etc.
Likewise, the headscarf is a symbol of oppression of hundreds of millions of women. If a woman decides to wear one (though keep in mind that in many cases this is not her free decision but imposed on her by force or by social pressure), we can't forbid it. But we live in a secular state, where state and religion are separate - hence it should be forbidden in schools and civil services.
- Islam does not belong to Germany
It absolutely does not. A political, totalitarian ideology which promotes the victimisation of women, hatred of gays, hatred of non-believers, particularly Jews, detestable 7th century laws, including death for blasphemy, apostasy, or adultery, and which seeks to dominate the world and subdue all non-Muslims, is diametrically opposed to everything Germany and the West stand for.
However, the very next sentence in the party program is that Muslims are welcome to live in Germany as long as they abide by the German rules. Muslims who have abandoned the hideous parts of their ideology or identify as cultural Muslims and don't take their ideology seriously should be treated like any other German citizen.
- children born in Germany should no longer receive German nationality if their parents are non Germans
Most countries don't offer their nationality to children born inside their borders, or have at least severely restricted this practise. I never understood it anyway. Why should a child of, say, two German parents be considered an American citizen just because it happened to be born while they were there on a two-week vacation? Where this system is in place, it is known to be abused. To attempt to limit "pregnancy tourism" in a time of insecure borders seems sensible.
To sum up, every single point you mentioned is perfectly reasonable. You don't have to agree with every one. But not in the slightest is anything the AfD advocates based on "xenophobia", and by insinuating that it is you are participating in the defamation and slander campaign that has been going on in the left-orientated media for months. Now, I don't assume that you have malicious intent. I will grant you that you, by being influenced by said media propaganda, honestly thought that the AfD is somehow "right-wing", or "xenophobic". I hope I was able to show you that nothing could be further from the truth. The AfD is merely not shying away from discussing inconvenient facts and asking difficult questions. Unlike the other parties, it is not driven by ideology, but bases its positions in the real world.
Yes, some of the points they raise may challenge our xenophile intuitions. But still they have to be discussed. By labeling the AfD as "xenophobic" you are basically saying that their positions don't have to taken seriously, and by avoiding the conversation in this way you are, unknowingly, contributing to the problem. Facts are facts, and they won't go away by ignoring them. What
will happen, if we continue to ignore these problems for sake of political correctness, is that this vacuum will be filled more and more by real right-wing groups, who really do advocate violence and racism. If you want to avoid this scenario, you should vote for AfD next week!
