I discovered something in my last game. I have never seen it on the forum so it might be new.
I had 2 cities on another continent habited only by the romans. Those cities were taken from Rome earlier.
Rome made a sneek atack and took those cities with many cavalry.
I sent a couple of people and liberated one of theese cities. (the one with a resource.)
Having survived his first ****er atack with only one cavalry left, I wanted to have peace. He refused to acknoledge my envoy. So I decided to take my cavalry to safety and leave that city undefended.
To my suprise, the AI offered me peace in exchange of a tech. suprised to se that hapen, I reloaded and see if the same thing would hapen with my unit in the city, and it did not work, the AI just took the city.
I think that when the AI sees an empty city, he will just try to bargain and that overrides its war status. I'll have to try that again and se if I can exploit it. (I'm a builder, I don't like long wars)
Can anyone confirm that discovery. I'll look for a way to get a rule out of that to exploit it.
BTW I use vanila 1.29F
