Just a heads up on what I am working on.

This mod is going to be a European Medieval mod starting from the Ancient Age and tapering off pre Industrial.

There will be no UUs.

All the "UU"s will require special resources and any civ that can aquire those resources will be able to build them. The only way to trigger a GA will be through Wonder construction.

Its a work in progress but here are some early concepts:

Berserkers will require Hides and Ore and will have Hidden Nationality.

Longships will require Hides and Timber and will also have Hidden Nationality.

(Thus if you can get Hides, Ore, and Timber you build Hidden Nationality raiding parties.)

That's just a sample but it should give you an idea. Basically the only thing different between civs is their traits. The units and civilization you become will be dependent on your terrain environment and the resources available to you.
 
You might want to do something I am, where you make each of the buildings, resource required, Wood for wooden buildings, Stone for Stone etc etc.. and they make each other obsolete, which means you can have 1 or the other.
 
Plan on playtesting the base ruleset this weekend, once that's checked out I'll post it.

Phase two is the Leaderheads and diplomacy, Phase three would be units and what not.

If anyone has some good ideas for unit or anything let me know. I have about $2000 worth of new 3d models and the what not I'm just chopping at the bit to get into leaderhead use........

Anyone who wants to volunteer work or units is more welcome, primary purpose is to make a fun game that would be a blast to play multiplayer/pbem.
 
Wow! Sounds like this will be a challange, and it's a great idea. I'm definitally going to be looking forward to this. I wish I could offer some help but alas I'm not good at making units and with me leaving for basic at the end of the month most of my time is consumed with getting things in order.
