Scout the entire continent with your settler before choosing a spot for your capital.

    Given: :spear:

Given: Warriors cost less than Spears and are weaker in Defense.

Therefore: Warriors are a better defensive units than Spears.

Thus: Build Warriors rather than Spears.

dont have too many attacking units, the more you have the more likely you are to be attacked

dont worry about saltpeter, eventually it will become abundant so dont waste time trying to find it

always make sure you have a tundra start, that way cities will produce units who like the cold and it stops enemies who are from warmer places from attacking since the cold will kill them.

bombard 1 pop cities only, dont bother with anything above that size

be landlocked, that way you wont get attacked by overseas civs

That's not always bad. The top dog might be doing the same (and faster) or building its infrastructures which are equally bad for you. Then again there's always ICBM and the space ship.

never go to war on a cultural victory attempt, always try to get as much culture for the 100k on the few cities you have, 11 should be enough, 111 is just cheating

I read that and thought "that's pretty stupid" or something like that.. and then I remembered... oh, it's the "give BAD advice" thread. It's what happens when you pop up multiple threads at once.

Bad advice indeed. There is actually a 5CC 100K game somewhere in the story thread, by Bamspeedy IIRC.

That has required some serious math to accomplish. 5 cities reaching 20k culture in the very same turn? :crazyeye:

Leave it to Bamspeedy to pull something like that off. XD

If he actually did that, I'd probably have an orgasm. I don't think that's what was meant though.

You can go fetch the Kleenex, the thread is here: 100k with a 5CC!! . I quote the first line of that thread:

I need a tissue-box next to the computer, because this keyboard is now ruined. Ruined!

That's awesome. Damn you Bamspeedy! I'm good enough at both maths and the game to pull that off if I wanted, but it's the patience to do that much micro-management that I don't have and you do that sets you apart my friend.

Actually, reading it again, this is what I meant to quote. 100K with a 5CC is still very impressive, but this is what I was orgasming over.
