Give corporations more realistic names

They can't give real company names-copyright infringement. You can mod the names if you like-or there may be some mods on this board already.

Yeah, I figured that's why they didn't. That's why I wanted to mod them in, but I couldn't think of specific, fitting names.

;) Too bad it's pretty much true lol :lol: . Except for the food one. Sid's Sushi can be replaced by McDonalds.

I can understand why they don't have real names, but still names they have now are kind of cheesy. In comparison to the rest of the game which is generally based on representing history, the corporations just seem kind of out there in left field. I do like the concept of having corporations, but how they were implemented in general just seems kind of odd.

Sid's sushi -> Joe's Crab Shack
Cereal Mills -> General Mills
Aluminum Co -> Alcoa
Creative Constructions -> Halliburton
Civilized Jewelers -> DeBeers
Mining Co -> BHP Billington
Std Ethanol -> Archers Daniel Midland

Firaxis 15135 :gold: and 1335135 :) and 15315315 :health: in city

... I don't believe this is good for our health, playing C-IV this much. Atleast not 5.105.105 times better than a hospital.

There are some symbols already made etc. I think they were placeholders and can be ofund in the Charlemagne scenario...

Or in the "Crossroads Of The World" Scenario.

If Firaxis were to use actual corporation logos, the actual corporations could sue Firaxis for allowing the dilution of their copyrighted logo or for the implication of endorsement of CIV by the copyright holder. Even Wiki warns against the use of corporate logos on their website.

Now if an individual modder were to do make a mod with the actual logo, there is probably not much that the actual corporation could do to the modder. But the corporation could sue the administrators/owners of the Civ Fanatics Center to remove the mod with their logo in it.
