    Thats right, you heard me.
While I realize It may be a bit early to judge the leadership ability of the candidates, I believe our shared effort to judge their style and promises might yield some truth about the candidates as a whole.

I suppose to give us more to talk about, those who have dropped out or have little hope of winning should definitely be included.

I won't put too much into explanation right now, here are my current judgments.

    Barak Obama - Cha/Org
His charisma is undeniable and he argues for a sound budget while still supporting economic intervention and social programs

    Hillary Clinton - Agg/Exp
She isn't subtle about her calls to continue the war on terrorism, wherever it takes us {particularly Iran} and her healthcare plan is indeed Universal, hence the expansive health bonus

    John McCain - Imp/Pro
He has famously stated that we will be in Iraq for one hundred years and has hinted at aggression towards Iran {bomb-bomb-bomb Iran anyone?} as well as being a supporter of the great wall of Mexico

    Mike Huckabee - Spi/Pro
He is a former preacher in an Evangelical church, he co-authored a book on Christian Dominionism, speaks about 'miracles' quite a bit and considers faith to be one of his main issues "Faith, Family, Freedom". He also supports the great wall of Mexico and strengthening Homeland Security.

    Ron Paul - Fin/Org
He wants to make trade freer than free trade agreements like NAFTA and wants to get rid of all government spending other than the mail service and the military. [Note, Financial / Organized is the best way I could put him into civ-trait speak. I personally consider his plan to get rid of all government social spending seems insane to me, but inventing my own traits to describe him would break the objectivity that I'm trying to do this with]

    Dennis Kucinich - Exp/Phi
He wants a completely Universal healthcare plan and intended to greatly redefine the role of the US government from the prison system at home and imperialists abroad to one of support at home and internationally.

    Ralph Nader - Phi/Ind
Nader [Who is days away from deciding wither to run or not] wants to dramatically change the way the government is run, from a representative democracy that strongly favors corporations and the rich to a participatory democracy that deliberates on issues far more. He wants to change the way industry is done in America, refocusing from profit to sustainability.

Good luck, I hope people join in [and this isn't an accidental repost].

Really? News to me...I thought ol' Mac was soft on immigration?

If he really is forcefully pushing for a wall now, I'll contentedly resign to apathy. Newt save us!

    Hillary Clinton - Ruthless Powermonger

The Ruthless Powermonger treats his country and his people as personal possessions. He is completely unscrupulous and he will let nothing stand between him and his goals. Sometimes he can develop a streak of paranoia which will endanger friend and foe alike.

    Barack Obama - Barking Buffoon

The Barking Buffoon is a great political dramatic actor. People see him as a strong and competent leader who will save the nation and restore it to its historical greatness. But behind his mask of bombastic rhetoric hides a weak-minded, vain simpleton. Those who really know him, know he is an incompetent man.

    John McCain - Benevolent Gentleman

The Benevolent Gentleman is charismatic and a master at winning elections. However, he lacks the character to be truly successful at the nation's helm. When things get rough, he merely smiles and waits out the winds of political opinion.

    Mike Huckabee - Power-Hungry Demagogue

The Power-Hungry Demagogue is an angry vengeful man full of hatred. However he possesses a demonic charisma that enchants the frustrated masses. He has but one real purpose and that is to control and shape the world into one of his liking.

    Ron Paul - Pig-headed Isolationist

The Pig-Headed Isolationist is determined to keep his country out of war, and the mess of international politics. He might like or dislike international cooperation, but it is always national autonomy that is his goal.

Oh, I'm glad it's just wrong, as opposed to just wrong and horrible.

    Would you kindly explain Why?

Obama: Cha, Exp (I dunno what charasmatic does because I only have vanilla)
With him, we can march into the 21st century with half price granaries and lighthouses for all! And everyone gets +2 health.

    Clinton: Aggressive and Expansive
Will probably follow in Bill's footsteps by bombing various countries for fun. Everyone gets +2 health.

    McCain: Aggressive and Organized
Well, he claims to be captain scissors, or whatever his nickname is for cutting pork. Nevermind his increased commitment to the military, I'm sure he'll cut a few civic programs to balance the budget. Half price barracks for all! More courthouses for all the POWs, too!

    Huckabee: Spiritual and Philosophical
I don't know that much about him, so I'm just going with the religious angle.

    Ron Paul: Organized and Financial
Free markets and slashed entitlements for all! Half price everything with new monetary standards (hurrah, deflation!).

    G.W. Bush: Aggressive and Philosophical
Inspiring great people by his sheer idiocy. I'm sure he'll find a way to stay on as president. I'm just pessimistic, that's all.

No, that man speaks the truth.
If we tried something along the lines of:
    Mitt Romney- Religious and Miltaristic
    UU- Eran
    etc, then I'd be interested.

Organized? He supports the Bush-McCain tax cuts even though they're not accompanied by spending cuts and supports the expensive Bush-McCain war. :p

These are all exaggerations, of course:

    Barack Obama:

    Government: Universal Suffrage
    Legal: Free Speech
    Labor: Emancipation
    Economy: Decentralization
    Religion: Free Religion

    Hillary Clinton:

    Government: Hereditary Rule
    Legal: Bureaucracy
    Labor: Emancipation
    Economy: State Property
    Religion: Free Religion

    John McCain:

    Government: Representation
    Legal: Nationhood
    Labor: Tribalism
    Economy: Free Market
    Religion: Organized Religion

Too bad there isn't a "Corporate Welfare State" option for economy.

Well then, why not start labeling the candidates that?

Also, Sims, I doubt Hillary likes state property for anything other than healthcare, she worked for Walmart and has received more corporate money than any other candidate. I would give her 'Corporatism' as her economy choice.

    Great thread!

I think you're right with Barack -- he has to be Charismatic, and I think Organized is a good one. One of his main priorities in the Senate has been for open government -- publishing bills on the Internet, publishing sortable and searchable campaign finance databases, &c. -- his favorite civic, therefore, is Universal Suffrage.

For Hillary, Expansionist is good, but I'd say Imperialist instead of Aggressive. Aggressive has to be reserved for people who actually start wars, or sing songs about starting wars. She definitely isn't challenging the role of America as 21st Century imperial power, though. Her favorite civic is also probably Universal Suffrage, yes, because she's a woman. :p (Hereditary Rule doesn't fit since she's not Bill's descendent.)

John McCain, who is a candidate that sings jokey songs about starting wars, should get Aggressive. And probably Protective, for the reasons the OP pointed out. Favorite civic: Nationhood?

Huckabee is Spiritual / Philosophical. The guy's an actual minister. Lots of people chose Organized, but the Fair Tax would be a disaster, so I can't do that. Favorite civic: Organized Religion.

Ron Paul is the best one. I have to say that Financial / Organized probably fits him the most, though I don't think his particular policies would actually help that much. It's more a reflection of his ideology. As a result, he gets Fin/Org, but may only adopt one civic: Free Market. All the others have to remain at the "pre-government" options.

And for fun: George W. Bush. Charismatic / Imperialist. There's no way he's "Aggressive" -- as an American taxpayer, I can assure you that those barracks weren't all half-priced. His favorite civic is, naturally, Hereditary Rule.

    Cleo

I've heard a lot of shots at Obama, some justified, but calling him stupid is a new one...I don't see how that sticks.
