We need TWO MORE PLAYERS to start this one, hosted by Killeritch:

--------------------
This is a ROLE-PLAYING game using the Into the Renaissance scenario. Please do not join if you want to play competitively.

Rules:

1: Role-play! Please role-play extensively, both in the comments and in private messages. You don't have to be perfectly accurate, just generally act like a medieval country: be outwardly hostile towards anyone of a different religion or sect (though Christian nations of different sects could occasionally ally against Muslims in extreme circumstances) and make sure Jerusalem is at least controlled by someone of your religion, preferably you. Bonus points for role-playing real world rivalries and alliances.

2: Please name all your cities after real-world cities in roughly the same location (Google Maps will help).

3 (the most important rule of all): Play to have fun, not to win! Points will be utterly disregarded in this game: there is no winner. Unless someone conquers the entire map, in character. Then they've probably won.

4: In this game, we will ignore HRE elections but role-play papal elections. Elections are held every ten years, and only Catholic nations and city-states can vote. Civs and city-states get one vote per Catholic city, with city-states voting for their allies as normal, and the controller of the Vatican getting an extra vote as normal. The pope can excommunicate people (meaning they can no longer vote or become pope) and call crusades against non-Catholic nations, giving every Catholic nation an excuse to DoW that person. Whenever the Vatican is taken by force (so not when Austria Diplomatic Marries it), the pope is killed and a new one must be elected, who will then reign for the full ten years before the next election happens (unless he is also killed!).

Also, if you're pope, please give your pope a realistic name :) (see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Template:Popes)

P.S. If you think these rules are too strict, say. If most people think that we can loosen them.
