As we start playing with the awesomeness that is Civ V, I was wondering how others approach the experience. What do you want to accomplish? What victory type do you want?

I started my first game last night...on a wimpy difficulty. I decided all I want for this game is to get to build a "giant death robot". Who cares about victory if you can get one of those instead!

Well, some of us haven't got the game yet! :(

I'm going to try my hand at the Space Race first, I think. Or the new cultural victory, building the Utopia Project and all that. And all as India. :D

Then in my next game (as Alexander), I'm going to try and befriend as many city states as I can. Then, as Nobunaga, I'm going to be a complete warmongerer and see how good Bushido is as a UA.

I played the demo, as Civ V isn't released in NZ yet. Not for another 24 hours :(

Anyway, I want to play as the Aztecs, and see how thier "Civ gains culture after defeating units" works. It is a pity that their UU obsoletes almost instantly, but it is a useful unit [Although I prefer the Persian Immortal over the Aztec Jaguar].

I don't know if that culture is randomly turned into a singular city, or if it is only applied to the social policies. Does anyone know? Does killing stuff in Aztec allow you to expand your borders?

[Also, I think that if the culture is NOT added to a city, and if puppet cities do not increase the culture to increase cultural policies, I might go for a very unique cultural win as the Aztec! Who knew that Monty would be a culture powerhouse in Civ V? :p ]

Err, not to be a spoilsport, but doesn't this belong in General Discussion? Unless you're planning to document your run for the giant robots of doom that is ;)
