Gods & Kings loading costum map?

Hello guys!

I've just edited a map for Gods and kings, but for some reason I cant load it...
I've placed the mapfile in the /documents/my games/Sid Meier's Civilization 5/maps folder

But I still can't open it. What to do?

EDIT: oh damn! I should have put this in the God's and King's location XD

Moderator Action: No, the modding forum is correct, but the main forum please, because the maps subforum is only for maps, not for questiosn .

Yes, this does belong in the main forum for CiV, you got me pretty excited. But really, it should open it thru Mods with NO MODS ENABLED. Most mods out there aren't G&K compatible (yet), and that could cause it to crash. If you just aren't seeing it in-game...

No I don't have any mods enabled, just the map. the funny thing is;
It does not appear in the maps tab in the "advanced set-up" menu,
While it does show up when trying to save the current map for the worldbuilder...
(you know the "save map" option while playing the game)

I have been having similar issues. I make a map, save it, but it cannot load for some reason. I've been working with 2K Support and Steam Steam Support for the past month trying to solve the problem. They both turned me away, claiming that custom maps are the not in their domain, rather they are the property and problem of the users who make them. That's why I'm here but I don't know hoe to do anything here xD. I am nearly a complete noob to fora and have no clue what I'm doing. I need help (with the game, that is).
