Going through the Eras question

Sorry may be a stupid question, but is here any reason or advantage gainied when you hit other time eras? I mean as soon as you can hit clasical should you etc etc??

No advantage. Its just to show you where you made it to basically.

It changes the music, changes the look of your buildings and the only "real" thing it does is bad. It makes you fail some missions.

Eg you might have a mission to build so many boats before the classical era or something.

Its just interesting to know what "era" you are in, thats why they put it in.
