Gold Per Turn

I got a question..

I'm in a Warlord game..(still a newb yet..)..and I got out of Anarchy about 18 turns..but I was losing gold at 70% research..so I put it down to 40% research..I am now getting about 16 gold per turn but almost every city is on wealth..Oh I am in the Middle Ages...

So I decided to trade with a powerful civ..(the Aztecs are the most powerfulest in my game so far)..I typed in that I want 999 gold per turn gold for a tech..it brought up the it could only give 308 gold a turn..HOW IN THE WORLD!! So I went to the 2nd weakest Civ..the Spainish.. and they had about 120 gold per turn..

I just got one question..

WHY CANT I GET THAT MUCH GOLD PER TURN!?!?!?
Is there anyway I could get that much gold per turn..even 60 gold per turn would be great!!

Depends on the amount of roads, market places, banks, and lukuries you have. Wonders also contribute. At one point in a game I was making 2000gpt with 90% research 10% luxuries.

Build marketplaces and banks and trade. Also build roads and other infastructure.

Are you playing the 1.12 Patch? If you're not there's a "gpt bug" in 1.00 which means that gpt received is double what it's supposed to be. That would explain why the AI's have so much at a fairly early point in the game.

Never build wealth, always build infrastructure and then military when you're done.

Can I ask..What does markets and banks do anyway instead for more gold?? Or is that all they do...Plus I got the biggest millitary...88 units..my government is going to monarchy..right now I am in despotism..trying to get out of it..I'm having my golding age whice is bad for this kinda of government..

So I'll start building Markets and bannks..ok!!

Well, since your problem is that you want more gpt, isn't that enough? The marketplace also multiplies the effect (happy faces) of luxuries when you have several of them. It's one of the best city improvements in the game, IMO.

Yeah, it's not great to have your GA under despotism, but you know what's worse? Having anarchy during your GA! During the turns under anarchy you're losing all the benefit of your GA. Better a GA under despotism than anarchy.

Early in the game, wealth rarely generates more than 1 or 2 gold (just 1 in more cities), so build something useful instead.

I think it's because the AI's are stupid and they won't use their gold in their science research and other stuff. But it's just me.

I have noticied that even when the computer is making a lot of money, he (she?) almost never has an extravegent amount for lump sum. do they spend every last gold piece as soon as they get it?

Don't wonder how the AI gets all that money - make sure U get it from them and put it into some good use!! (with the double gpt bug it is a pleasure to get 350 gpt + 2 techs ;-) ).
