Welcome to the brand new Gold Bluff Casino, located in luxurious Huntington Beach, Fanatika.

My name is Frankie and I'll be your host this evening. Please feel free to enjoy yourselves at any of our gaming tables or if you prefer, take in one of our top rated shows playing here nightly.

Our recent record-breaking turn chats have sparked a healthy bit of debate about how long our next chat will last. Well, as it is our business to capitalize on this kind of chatter, we are now taking bets on this upcoming chat.

And because you are here during our Grand Opening Celebration, you can place your bet for free! Simply select the option you think is most likely to be the winner and you're done! It's that simple. But most of all, enjoy yourself!

Visit the Gold Bluff Casino in Huntington

Note: An observant citizen will notice that the poll does not provide a record of who selected which slot. This is because this poll is meant for fun only. Perhaps, if someone is interested in taking over as casino manager, we will establish a thread in the RPG subforum and run things with a little more sophistication...

    Edit: corrected typographical errors...

Great idea, 40J. I introduced the idea of casinos in DG1. It's good to see we have a 24/7 party environment going in DG2 also.

@Cyc:  I remember that. Asphinxia, and godindex or whatever...

Anyway, I say about 5 hours. With the war coming to a close, it should be shorter.

Wow... 3/10 expect it to run longer than 6.5 hours...

I guess there are some who don't share our optimistic view, CT. Either that, or we have some people eager to keep the record-breaking streak alive... :D

I will say 1-2 hours. I think something may be brewing with France. Plus I can't say no to those odds!

Looks like I'm gonna have to hire some better odds-makers. The chat lasted for over 7 hours! Congrats to the three people who picked that correctly.

Stay tuned for more games of chance from your favorite family destination, Gold Bluff Casino...

Even the Magic 8 Billiard Ball cant pedict the outcome of this bet ;).
BTW, What do the Odd-Makers do :).

The Odds of this game is 1/12 of winning ;).

While I am not a gambler by nature (somewhat ironic that I chose to open a casino in game then, eh), I do know that odds are not simply determined by statistics. Odds-makers actually use a number of factors to determine the payoff on any given bet. These factors include their personal experiences, the frequency and cash value of bets on any given option, etc.

For example, while the odds in this wager may have started out at 1:12 for each selection, the final odds (released just before the t/c began) may well have been 1:3 for the 5.0 - 5.5 option, 1:5 for the 6.5 + option, and 1:24 or greater for the < 1.0 option.

Of course, the time that you place the bet would determine your actual payoff. Thus, in the above example, somebody who placed the bet on the 5.0 - 5.5 option at the very beginning might get 1:12 (meaning 12g for each 1g bet). However, someone else who placed the bet in the 11th hour might only get 1:3 odds (meaning 3g for each 1g bet).
