But since both Alexander and the Byzantine Empire were mentioned there, i suppose i can, obviously just in the interest of mere encyclopedic speading of knowledge, refer to the notable Byzantine historian and Emperor, Constantine Porphyrogennetos, who wrote of Alexander: "the noble and most reknown" (ο γεννάδας τε και περίκλυτο&#962.

There is no such thing as a "Byzantine language". No one claims it is something other than the medieval stage of the Greek language. At least check something before you post it, although i accept that in this thread this is not something seen as exactly a priority!

There were not only 50,000 Byzantines. And all Byzantines did not live in Constantinople. There was a huge Empire. :facepalm: Where did all the people who lived in Greece and Minor Asia go?

The Greeks are Byzantines and the Byzantines are Greeks. It is like saying that Victorian Era British have nothing to do with Modern British except for language.
