most of youth of Elazığ supporting MHP and rest of them AKP. and non-of-them supporting kurds and they are from southeastern Turkey. I have many friends from Elazığ who are Pan-Turkist, ultra-nationalist (Turkish nationalist). anyway, what about Iğdır? a province in eastern Turkey. MHP got most of their votes.

my point is MHP isn't a nazi-like party. there are non-Turks in it.

Well the nazi party would not be "nazi-like" in that respect either, given that there were many non-germans in it. No need to mention Hungarians or other major ethnicities given roles in the regional nazi organizations, one could refer to the comedic Albanian SS division named SS Skanderbeg :crazyeye:

Iğdır has had conflict between Turks and Kurds with violence, I doubt those who support the MHP are Kurdish there. It's not in the Southeast either. Places like Ağrı and Erzurum are pretty mixed.

Elazığ is not exclusively Kurdish either. I'm curious where you're getting your information that most youth there support the MHP.

from people from Elazığ. They're saying that and I'm sure they know their homeland better than any others.

According to the election in 2011 there was one MP out of 5 who was MHP, the others were all AKP. Given that Elazığ is not in the deep Southeast and is not exclusively Kurdish I'm guessing most of those people who voted MHP are not Kurdish. Saying you know people from there doesn't really say anything, I don't know if you're talking about one guy you spoke with several years ago or numerous people you know.

I can't count them one by one. but they're mostly Kurdish or assimilated Kurds, IMO.

this part is in Turkish
Spoiler :
avatarın Türk, Türkiye'yi iyi biliyosun, sormadan edemeyeceğim; Senin memleket neresi? :)

There's no way for us to know other than anecdotal since Turkey does not keep statistics about race. I just asked a friend of mine about it and he says Elazığ is mixed Turk, Kurd, Zaza Kurd and Alewi. Now we're both in the presenting evidence of friends' boat. A Kurd would have be be very very assimilated to vote for the MHP but doesn't surprise me that a few would exist, but I doubt there are many.

Spoiler :
I'm not Turkish but I lived there for a long time in the Southeast.

I think that you better remove the image of a turkey there, pretty sure many Turkish people posting or viewing the thread will find it at least in horrible taste. So don't be inept...

Already in the post #2 of the thread it has been noted that gd is not even the worst in the region, specifically referring to some of the Turkish parties in existence now. So you would be hard-pressed to argue that arguing about the 3rd largest turkish party (MHP) that a couple of years ago had over 13% of the vote, and now has around 8% of the vote, is not relevant and on-topic. :mischief:

Moderator Action: Most of this thread seems to be name calling, and I don't see it evolving from that, so this is closed.
