I cannot believe I am starting the spoiler. I know quite a few of you started before I did.
I did some black clicking and realized our home continent is quite large. That, lack of a suitable SSC site, no hut popping, and my hunch that we are not alone led me to produce more warriors for exploration than usual. I typically make 2. In this game I made 6 early on. I built the first city at the starting location and sent the second settler towards the river. It established my second city in -3850 at the bend of the river.
Before long I ran into Russians and made peace with them but did not do tech exchange because I did not want to delay Trade.
I have built cities with little overlap taking advantage of the visible specials.
I planned to pop as many huts as possible in -2000 and placed my warriors accordingly. My initial hut luck was incredibly good: 2 out of 4 huts were advanced tribes, the other two gave 25g and archer. Later hut luck was about average.
After the discovery of trade I minimized science and switched several of my cities to caravan production for Marco. After Marco I put science back up but switched even more cities to caravan production for trade, Colossus, and Hanging Gardens.
My log follows. I am interested to know where everyone has decided to place their science city.

-2350 After much deliberation decided to found my science city at 42,38. This is in the city radius of my second city, Teo, which means that Teo has to be disbanded at some future time. The city has only one special: Silk, which is not great. But it also has 4 river tiles, great food potential (35 citizens), and proximity to capital. There are no great sites nearby. Founding science city far away takes time and corruption will be an issue before democracy. Much of my deliberation was to choose between founding a new city or just using Teo for SSC. The only advantage of the new choice is the Silk.
-2150 Trade -> Writing. T7L0S3
-2000 Calixtlahuaca founded. Advanced tribes found Xochicalco and Tlacopan. 25g from hut. Archer form hut.
