Can I be the first to say that I'm clearly not paying any attention at all? I screwed up VERY early in the game by forgetting that this is KING, so one doesn't need warriors for Martial Law. I could have been expanding SO much faster but I wasn't paying any attention at all to this. I feel VERY stupid, and I'm sure that my landing date has been hurt by a century at the least. I'm still shooting for pre-1500, however. It's just going to be tough for me. I guess you live and learn, but that's a rookie mistake. I'm just so used to Deity. I guess this is what I get for leaving the game and coming back.

Yes, it is coming back, although I'm definitely being a little sloppy this game. I feel like I'm kind of uncoordinated with my timing of techs and infrastructure and overall planning. I guess if I stick with it and play next month I'll do WAY better. The other good news, of course, is that I am going to land WAY earlier than my prior stated goal of 1500 AD. I won't say quite yet when, I'm not to auto yet and I don't know that I'll get a perfect take off from there (i.e. 1 turn advances every turn from thereafter, and a spaceship rush built to the biggest possible and launched on the turn superconductor is discovered). I do know that it's probably a couple of centuries late - I guess I'll do better on the next one.

I went for conquest, but didn't send out vans early enough to the furthest civ, I always do that, so I had turns of getting troops there late on. To make it worse they had built cities on rivers and the babs even got the great wall, but I eventually took the capital with about 6 vet crusaders. I ended up with loads of cities and wonders, but it wasn't a early conquest.

The map itself was a very good one I thought, it would be good to do a landing game on it. Time is too tight for me in the summer to play a landing game in a month.

Finished my game...was not to good. Conquest is still not one of my best strategy. Vikings gave a lot of trouble. Destroyed several cities before I finally could beat them.
