Seems like it's my turn to start this months thread.

When I saw that the game was bloodlust I though "What the hell, let's try a fast conquest".

I started by entering the hut to the east. A chariot joined my civilization and imidiatly started to explore around my starting possition. I took 2 more huts before I founded my first city. One of them gave me another chariot.

Just a few hundred years later they met the Celts who sneak attaked me with thier only defender, a warrior. My Chariot was on defensive terrain so that was not much of a problem. The celts were now forever gone, :) I was able to chose cermonial burial when sacking thier capital and just a few turns later I got polytheism from a hut :D. My conqust moved on softly and civ after civ was removed. Since all the elephants I built and got from huts was kinda superior to their warriors I didn't lose much units. Although when I was sailing over the dateline a few thrimes sank, some of them loaded with elephants . Those who made it went to search for enemies to slaugther.

Some years bc the world was mine, :D

Yeah! It's a GOTM10! Let I begin.

I always play as expantionist and on normal size map with 7 civs no long time to wait the meeting them.

I started by entering one of my settler to the hut to the east and send other to west. Like Chofritz I got a chariot there and go east. Further I took 2 another chariot and archer. My first settler found Carthage.

Just a few hundred years later I met the Celts and kill them. Simultaneously my second chariot find Thebes and capture it! (They attacked me but poorly and I come into empty city).

One of other hut got me the new citiy and now (around 3000BC) I have 4 cities and continue exploring the map.

This time I will actually try to finnish the game, even though I know other people have played a lot better. :)

Like Chofritz, I also felt hungry for war when I saw that we play the game in bloodlust. So the first thing I did was to walk east with my settlers and pop a hut. I got a chariot that explored the surrounding, and I got an archer after that. I built two cities on fairly good spots, and got a city for free from a hut. Around 3000BC, I met the celts. They came from the south, so I moved my troops to the south to find them, but of course I didn't. After a while I noticed they weren't south...they were south-east, and they had bronze working...so I had to build some ELEPHANTS. I lost one elephant in the heat of battle, but destroyed the Celts around 1500BC.

At that time, the mongols destroyed the egyptians, and came to me for a visit. Soon after we were in war, and I had to build some horsemen to see where they were. I destroyed one of their cities at the cost of 1 or 2 horsemen. Then barbarians started popping up all over, destroying every horseman I got, and the chariot and a crusader. The only thing I could attack with was a veteran phalanx, which I of course didn't.

The mongols took one of my new-built cities, but that's all. After that, I didn't think it was worth it to start producing attack units to go fight the mongols, since they already had so many troops. So I built some wonders instead and try to prepare for republic.

I am now at 480 AD, with 19 cities, 5 wonders, 26 advances, and some roads connecting the cities. I think I will go into republic in about 200-300 years. The babylonians (and their great wall) is blocking me from getting to the Vikings. :( Attacking the babylonians isn't worth the effort. I must try to expand and develop instead, hope I can get them later. I am not lucky when it comes to war like other people. My only chance is to catch them later.

I seem to always have very bad luck with huts in the start. I also sent a settler straight to the hut. Did I get a fine chariot? No, I rec'd 50 gold.

So I built some cities, connected them with roads and built the Lighthouse. Got trade and decided to do things differently by making some early trade routes. I had found the Celts and Egyptians by this time and made peace. Had to give the Celts 50 gold and trade but the Egyptians gave me 150 gold.

Was thinking about trying to play this whole game with no war - then I read the posts here and see this is bloodlust.

I guess I will have to forego that idea if I want a decent GOTM score!

Hi Chofritz,

Congratulations on finishing the game BC. I've just started my GOTM10 and played for a couple of tourns. I moved my settlers to the east, 1st hut gave me a horseman and 2nd a chariot then I found Carthage. Exploring to the east my chariot found Cardiff and didn't have any problem with razing it, whereas my horseman went to the north, found another hut (Horseman) and
they destroyed Thebes. I also found the Sioux but didn't deal with them so far. I keep searching for another civs...

P.S. How many turns are there on King level?

Hehehe, I am almost done now. I am at 1750 AD, 52 cities, almost every necessary techs, and population 60, 000,000.

For about 500 years I have done nothing but buying improvements, building settlers, building freights and irrigating lands. I really don't feel like building more cities...I can imagine all the micromanaging I have to go through *shudders*.

No, it's time to end the persians. I think my howitzers can beat the phalanxes, where my veteran Cavalries couldn't.

Lol, I just looked at the casualties. I lost about 50 troops!! I guess I still have alot to learn. :)

The world is so green! There are so many good places for cities, all I've been doing is building settlers & pikemen and founding cities.
It's 20AD and I have about 24. I've got the colossus and pyramids and I'm just about to get Mich Chapel, so I think I'll go to republic and grow a bit soon.
Since there is so much green, I'll probably just keep expanding and have a massive blitzkreig at the end with tanks, bombers & howitzers.

When I saw the game I thought: ****! This is one of those maps without space for a nice big (and when I say big, I mean really big) city or fast growth. Somehow the barbarians already killed a civ early on, and the Celts and Egyptians were no match for me. Sioux will probably be next, though I will build up forces and cities near them first. I have almost all the wonders available (still building Great Library, starting on Sun Tzu's). Only the Babs have Marco Polo's. Sounds like they wanna lose that city to me. :D

There are huts everywhere and the other spawning civs don't seem bothered about opening them.

Chariot, archer, horseman, chariot... I have an army of nons to explore, open huts, kill civs,

more chariots, a few techs, and now some advanced tribes. (A couple of Barbarian horseman too, I didn't want you thinking it was all goodies)

The enemy are like dust in the wind

This won't be a BC finish, I enjoy building my empire to much for that, but it may still be my quickest yet.

I just finish my GOTM X this morning early !

I took the military conquest and played very very agressive!

I conquered all the world around 1500 AD.

I happy because it is the first time I played a military way this game ! I have not even construct 1 library! Sound strange too me!

Hey, it' 560 AD and I've got some 17 cities, eaten up the Celts and I'm at peace with Egyptians, Sioux and Babs.
Babs seems the only serious menace to the building Berhempire.
Utica is well on the way to become a nice research city, as it has Colossus, Copernicus, a library and is building a University.

Keep you up.

:D

Everyone is dead, except for the Persians and Babs. So far the losses are minimal! I'll take the Babs over by bribing. I just love that. Especially since I'm technological slightly behind. (How the hell could that have happened?! That never happens to me, must be because I didn't play for a month or so.)

A little map clicking told me that heading left would be a short journey. The right showed much more promise. My starting position was unsatisfactory so "The Great Migration" occured heading right or east..or is it west?.

I got 3 archers and Map Making before founding a city.3600bc iirc.Stumbled on the celts, traded for Burial then razed their city.No more celts.
Next my wanderings brought me across yellow..who was it now?Egypt i think. They declared war for some strange reason and their warrior lost to my archer on a river leaving their only city undefended. No more yellow civ.Got Masonry.Next I found purple. This was after the Vikes were taken out by the Babs.Their cap was a little tougher as it was on a river and they had a phalanx but the end result was the same.No More Sioux.
I was busy building nothing but settlers when a Bab chariot decided it was wise to start a war on behalf of Hammurabi.Bad plan.Triangulated their city and soon there was no more green civ.
By this time I had popped many huts with differing results, but had a moderate amount of units out.Soon the mainland was uncovered but no turquoise.I set sail and soon I saw a support screen with "located near Persopolis".6 crusaders and the Persians are down to 1 city.
Now what?..I have only 400+ points.Lots of turns left.A reasonably early spacehip is still possible....

The rest of us are playing Bloodlust, what are you doing?

oops....that changes things :crazyeyes

The continent is mine, babs last to fall at about 1050bc as I recall.
I've spent some time building my civ.

AD 1050, after gifting a few techs, the Persians agree to share world maps, now I know where to send my army.

Earliest ever finish now gauranteed

I'm playing the game one more time just for fun, :)

I'm in 200 bc and my biggest problem is unhappiness, :) It's kinda hard to control ~60 cities with only hanging gardens, But soon I'll have mikes completed and hopefully theologi researched, :)

well I am in the "catch 22" again. If I attack or bribe the last city,my government will fall, costing me alot of points.....do I "take it on the chin" or revolt to a war government?..again costing points....

Civ3 will decide :)

I was trying to submit my first GOTM game, but I don't have an e-mail program. What is the adress I should send to?
