now im tying a new strategic out:get civil service in BC2000 around
    leader:Ramesses
    era:ancient
    map:pangaea
    speed:quick
    level:noble
    and other settings default

    building queue is quite simple:worker-stonehenge-oracle
    tec route:mysticism-pottery-mining-meditation-priesthood-writing-polytheism

upon birth the worker builds a farm immediately, then a cottage,
    a mine

convert a population into a priest as soon as the stonehenge up.
when city grows to 5,turn the second priest.

shift the population among priest, farm, cottage and mine
the final goal is:let the prophet born at the same time i complete oracle

if everything goes on wheels, oralce will confer code of law just before the oldman's birth who will give u Civilservice in the same turn

Done,in the last game i got it at 1960 bc
wish u can break the record

How are you going to deal with barbarians with only 1 warrior (asuming he doesn't get eaten by animals) and without archery or bw?

    no need for exploring....
before bc1960 there is rare case that the barbarian would intrude into your border except for raging bab activated.
    simple.

Sure, it may be possible to get it that early, but I think it would probably leave your economy so weak that it would be more effective to pump out a settler or something first. Also, it might be more effective to skip the stonehenge, build an obelisk instead, and then have room for a settler and a couple military units. You'd lose the wonder GP points, but it would probably give you a stronger start overall.

Not really necessary on noble to get CS with the Oracle. Try to get Education instead and you'll own the complete game. Or did you just try this for kicks?

for a single city why not just build an obelisk instead of stonehenge and save the hammers.. at the very least make a couple warriors instead.

you'll get creamed on higher difficulties with this build though....

earlier beurocracy doesnt help if you control no land.

guess you'll probably learn the hard way though

    good luck w/ that

Man, I've tried that several times on Noble (Earth 18 civs map, normal speed, Elizabeth) and I can't quite do it. Can you give a brief write up?

Prophet Slingshot is not new, but for all of us that have discovered it on our own for the first time it's great fun. There are a lot of cool slingshots available from Gt People - you can even pop CS with a Great Merchant if you avoid Masonry and Bronze Working. It's not quick, but the research path to get there gives great economic techs.
