Graduation

I put my colonist into a college, the time runs out as to respect of how many turns required to graduation.

And NOTHING Happens, i don't have a dialog screen come up to select his new profession, nothing. i've tried everything. what am i doing wrong?

Do you have a specialist in your colony? You must have one already to be able to choose that profession.

Also are other schools/colleges/unis graduating students? In vanilla Col only one student per turn will graduate.

1) yes, i have a town full of specialists.
1.b) yes, I have a lot of gold
2) No, this is the only colony with a school

Do you actually get a trained colonist at all? If so, though I'm not entirely sure, I believe if you automate your citizens you don't get to choose what they train into.
