Hey again! It's time to decide! Which is civfanatics' favorite CiV civilation? Is it science masters Korea, who recieved more votes than any other civ in the qualifying heats? Is it England, ruler of the seas? Long counting Mayans? Faithful Ethiopia? The hill-loving Inca? Policy-hoarding Poland? The sacrificing Aztecs? Or is it the Assyrians, who figured the best way to learn anything at all is to beat people to death? It's come down to these eight, and it's all up to you guys to decide! Thank you all once again for voting!

Well, not completely up to you guys. I get one vote as well, but it's so damn hard... I'm gonna sleep on it.

Mayans. The other civs are arguably better (since with BNW, the Mayans were arguably nerfed due to the science penalty from each additional city), but I think they're the most fun, since their religion game is always hilariously powerful.

I haven't played any of these Civs.

I have wins with; France, Rome (BNW), Greece, Egypt, Songhai, Siam (BNW) & the Ottomans (BNW). Working on the Iroquois at the moment, and they aren't on the list either.

My wife only plays as the Maya though ;)

So little votes for Montezuma? Surprises me to be honest. I myself voted for Poland. :)

The Aztecs are rather mediocre, compared to the other Civs on this list.

    ^Lol.

    Favorite History: Assyria
    Favorite UA: Maya or Korea
    Favorite Opponent: Korea
    Favorite UUs: England
    Favorite UB: Assyria

Blast it, that was a tough one. Had to go with the Assyrians. Sadistic, deportative, inhumane civ they were, I still gotta go with the only on the list to be the badasses of both the Bronze and Iron Ages (for a while at least).

Dag... look at Poland. Can someone explain their apparent awesomeness to someone who rarely uses cavalry and has no problem acquiring SPs? Guess I should try 'em and see.

There are a few top tier civs that are just noticeably better than the rest. He only one of those on this list is Pachacuti, so I voted for him.

Once on a hillside, my troops hid
    To cause a rival strife
And when they jumped out, it looked like
The ground had come to life

The rocks they are my warriors
    I then used to boast
And that little lie helped us win wars
    But violence helped the most

    I drink from their skull
    Do the Pachacuti!
    Pull out their teeth whole
    Do the Pachacuti!
    Turn teeth into charms
    Do the Pachacuti!
Make flutes out of their arms
    Pachacuti!

...But now, Assyria, Ethiopia, Korea and Shoshone are in my list

Their UA is stronger the higher difficulty you're playing because the AI can spam so many units on Immortal+. UB is solid and UU helps a tremendous lot in the early game. They're pretty strong imho, though probably the all around weakest in this finale.

Think playing a normal game, except you get a free social policy tree to fill out. It's huge. The other stuff is solid too, the Winged Hussar is just so good you completely forget it becomes a useless Anti-Tank Gun later. Improved movement, higher combat strength, free Shock I, knock-back... I don't know, I think you'd have to play them for yourself. And the Ducal Stable? If you have three pastures in one city (not that rare), this will provide 3 hammers and 3 gold at no maintenance cost, which is super awesome. Nevermind the mounted unit bonuses.

Thanks! Now you have to explain to me why I should care about cavalry. Haha, jk! Seriously, I don't use them much, and the stables give the same bonuses, but I just noticed that +15xp. If that applies to more than horses, than I'm on board.

    And this...
    ...was very well-put.

Btw, is it just me or did Korea just skyrocket in the last couple hours? Just like in-game!

Nah, the 15 xp is only for mounted units, but it's pretty useful. Try playing a game with some horses around to mix it up. Their mobility allows you to run in and pillage strategics, hunt down wounded/ranged units, etc. I like having a couple around, more than just the one for taking cities.

At least those anti-tank guns turn into helicopters, which are at least mildly useful.

Alright! We've had the results for a while now! I love how very close it was in the end. I seem to remember Korea had a 15-13 lead over England and Poland with only a few hours left. Anyway, congratulations to Poland! You won something! Seriously, really powerful and fun civ, though maybe not entirely surprising that a BNW civ won, the others have been around for a while now. Still, don't wanna take anything away from Poland, they're really good. Thank you all one final time for contributing to this contest with your votes and comments! I had fun!
