Definitely a tech question here...

Playing civ4 with warlords and bts and the latest patch.

Some of the game's graphic options are obvious, but others not so. Would someone tell me what these do?

1. Anti-aliasing MultiSamples
2. Render quality level
3. Particle effects
4. Low resolution textures

Also, what does the "interface" volume do (in the audio options)?

I couldn't find out what any of these things mean in the game manuals, the official website, or anywhere on these forums.

Thanks much for any info!

Several of those are discussed in this post: http://apolyton.net/forums/showthread.php?threadid=140636
Particle effects are the little flashes and twinkles such as you'd see around an explotion or the cities' We Love Ya celebrations.
Low resolution textures use less resources than the standard high res but have lower detail - they're uglier but on some systems useful to play with as they can avoid some sluggishness.
I'm not certain just which sound group the interface volume affects.

1. Makes the game look less pixelated
2. No idea. Doesn't seem to do anything
3. Smoke and other particle effects
4. Smaller texture size. Looks less detailed
5. Mouse clicks etc.

Auldian and GVBN, thank you!

I guess I'm not enough of a gamer to keep up to date with graphics technology (I've been playing civ since the first one, and there probably weren't any graphic choices other than "color or b&w") ;)

I appreciate the info!
