Graphics team weirdos

this is the strangest thread i#ve ever read in this forum....
especially as everything turned out to be a graphics glitch...
hilarious

Its a sign you should change your civic to police state.

The machine which produced those screenshots has an ATI Mobility Radeon 7500 graphics card. I have not upgraded the drivers.

I find it strange that with all those machine configurations out there that you guys have, I am so far the only one to report this particular of graphics glitch.
I still play on because the game is ok otherwise but I would like to fix it if anyone has an idea how to do it.

I suppose update the drivers is about the only option worth a try. I tried fiddling with various settings of graphics low/medium/high and such but none of those affected the boundary graphics.

btw, are you saying ships are not supposed to glow blue ?

Nope the ships should not glow blue. And I'd think that your first item of business would be to update your drivers. Also check out the tech support forums here for more knowledgable assistance. And you can also find topics there to help with your driver updating.

Heres how the ships should look.

sorry to laugh at your woes but that could be the quote of the year.

"are you saying ships are not supposed to glow blue ?"

I still can't believe Pug never even considered the "swastikas" and the glowing ships to be a graphics glitch

And Panda... You really should read the whole thread before posting replies like that. IMHO it's a bit

Nope.

And the only one who should  is the thread starter.

You really are in rampage mode this Sunday morning, Mr Panda!

Well maybe just a little. Or maybe i just hit the reply button and vented some steam instead of the usual next thread-button ;)

Maybe it's time for me to apologise to Firaxis for the title of the thread. It's clear now that it wasn't a design feature and is a graphics card problem. So, sorry Firaxis, your graphics team are not weirdos, at least not on this evidence.

Um, yeah, the blue ships questions was a joke. I kind of guessed they shouldn't look like that. Maybe you didn't see the screenshots I posted in the thread if you still don't understand that swastika comparison. Or maybe you don't know what a swastika is.

I updated the drivers for my card and it did not fix the problem. The boundary of my territory still shows as in the screenshots. I doubt there's a solution but I would be interested to hear from anyone who has the same grahics card .. ATI Mobility Radeon 7500 .. and gets the boundaries drawn correctly. I still find it ironic that this graphics card is specifically mentioned on the box for the game as meeting the minimum requirements. So Firaxis are not totally blameless in this.

Otherwise the thread is about at an end. Thank you for all you comments.

Ah okay I take it all back you are not a nutter, sorry

Perhaps a little harsh on the Yanks moaning about their rail network, bearing in mind the distances involved, and getting anywhere by road is just as bad. Especially as for some reason their road system is a bit ‘different’. Was watching that American Police chase thing with that cop presenter guy, you know, the one that reminds you of Chief Wiggum. ‘It was lucky that the freeways were almost empty as the chase reached speeds of up to 90 miles per hour’ Imagine that in Europe. I see old farts doing 90 down the M3 every morning

lol, yeh i apologise too for agreeing with strawberry...

I have the ATI Mobility Radeon 7500 graphics card aswell and my game play perfectly (except that i can't load saved games, enter the Worldeditor or take screeneshots, but thats ok ;)

i think you should check out the civ 4 technical difficulties help, or even the one in CFC.
