This is a preview unit for my History in the Making mod. It's a UU for the Islamic Religion:

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mamluk
(or it can just be used as a Middle Eastern flavor unit for a Knight)

It uses the Persian Immortal for the horse rider and the schimitar from Rabbit, White's Arabian Cavalry.

    Uses Companion Cavalry's animations!

    GET IT HERE!

    Enjoy!

Actually, the Crusader is a "hidden" unit in Vanilla Civ. I think it's called a "Knights Templar" or something.

    He's been around a while. ;)

That's what I thought, but I guess I just didn't remember seeing it lately. At any rate, he'll be in BtS, which is good.... :D

You're using the wrong animations. You need to use Companion Cavalry animations.

And I second the camel request :D

I'm glad you all like it. :)

I probably won't do a camel version. Here's why: To me, it would look too much like the Camel Archer. That, and from what I've read while researching Mamluks... they didn't ride on camels, only horses.

That, and I'll be busy trying to make new units here once my History in the Making is released. ;)

am i missing something? there is no KFM file, so i am not sure how to make this unit work.
    EDIT:

ok i got most of it working by using rabbit's files, except the tassals on the shield. good enough I guess.

here is the rabbit file with the tassel on the shield:
