I'm just wondering how many people here listen, have heard, or even know of the Newfoundland Band, Great Big Sea. They have 5 Canadian CD's, perform at numerous award shows, and recently released an American CD, Rant and Roar.

If you ever listen to any of thier good music, you can tell they are easterners.

Heh. As soon as I saw "Great Big Sea", I immediately thought of Calgary, and naturally that's where you are from. When I was last there, it was Great Big Sea and Shania Twain everywhere!

Oh yeah...I know Great Big Sea!!!

:)

I've stold several of there songs from Morpheus.

You see....we use the proper verbage for a word...and it looks bad! People think switching stold with download makes it ok...anyway...

They Rock!!

Everyone should listen to Great Big Sea...at least once.

All Canadians, that doesnt surprise me. I was really wondering if any Americans listen.

Still no Americans?

Hooray for Great Big Sea!
:fish: :fish:

This isn't a knock on anyone's musical taste, but Americans aren't missing much if they haven't heard these guys. Sorry, I just had to be honest :p

Like a dog wrapped round my leg.

I'm from the UK but my girlfriend is from Montreal. She went to college in St Johns. I am quite aware of Great Big Sea. :)

Hey, I take that personally. And these guys are more musically talented that any other musician out there today that I've heard of. (No offense to any Europeans, becuase i most likely haven't heard whatever you guys listen to.

Never heard of them before - what kind of music do they play?

Lets see, i dont really know how to describe it. Its Irish definatly, but its been modernized and reworked. ALthough most of the songs the play are actually old Newfoundland sea songs.
