Don't have a screenshot, but I once built a great wall that literally only went across one tile. Was on a peninsula when I finished it and had filled the entire peninsula with cities already.

If you look at the minimap for the first screenshot, you can see the civ that built the wall has more than just that one city. But when they built the wall their little city was surrounded by a sea of foreigners!

I once built the Great Wall and subsequently had two barbarian invasions spawned "outside" my borders. In fact, they were trapped inside culture from three of my cities.

The game went on and I left them there. Eventually the entire gap was filled with culture, and the barbarians were all simultaneously teleported to inside the borders of - and right next to a city of - a neighbor I had just declared war on.

Hilarity ensued.

Here is my funny screenshot. I built the great wall before Seattle was built, obviously. Seattle was a great spot to build to get 2x fish and have another coastal city.

So, let's build this wall to keep Seattle out!
