I think the question should really be phrased: What would Mankinds greatest age so far IF YOU BELONGED TO NO COUNTRY AT ALL.

At a glance I would have said Age of Imperialism just because I could say I belonged to GREAT Britain and could moon the French across the channel safe in the knowledge I won't be arrested for it but may be given a knighthood (exageration).

So as a outside observer I would say WWII as it showed the best and worst man can achive when it really puts it mind to it. Even in WWI had Europe not mobilised so much. Apathy seems to rule our lives in this era to it to be called "great"
