I've seen a lot of north Americian cities, and I'd rate New York as its best, the size alone is mind blowing. It has everything you can think of and more.
New York, the rest in the US and Canada are merely large villages with a skyscraper center. real cities have a grown core that still lives, like NY does.
South American Cities I cannot really judge, not having been there.
In my visits to North America the city I most loved was San Francisco. Vancouver is also very nice.
I have to say I really hated New York. The size, the smell, the sheer volume of everything was just not to my taste...too many people in too much of a rush. I found it intimidating and rude...would hate to be lost there
The place is modern, and that's my kind of town. New York, although I liked it, I was disapointed at how old all the cement buildings were. Then again, that's just my personal preference, since it does build distinct New York feeling. That's the main reason why I hate the new WTC plan, something new and trendy like that doesn't belong in New York.
I am very Nationalistic about San Fransisco (I live in the suburbs), and Tokyo and London beat every city in the US anyways.
Madison, Wisconsin, they edited out the 95% of a city that you don't want and took the other 5% and put it in a cornfield. A very comfortable place that is also a lot of fun. New York has too many people to be a great city. Mexico City has the worst pollution in the world. Chicago is New York's trailerpark cousin. LA is everything that is wrong with the US put into one place, we should trade it to Mexico for timeshares in the Yucatan.
