Greatest persons in history/present.

It seems to insinuate that the Elves = horses. :D

Ohh. The avatar image is actually a picture of a warrior of the Rohirrim (Rohan) who were a semi-nomadic people prior to the Fall of Numenor, who had an affinity for the use of horses in warfare, and were granted their own fiefdom of sorts for helping the Gondorians (Numenorian refugees).

But more on-topic, why for whatever reason is Stephanie Meyer on this list? How has she in any way contributed to history?

Isaac Newton. He accomplished more in his lifetime than anyone else in history - developing calculus, the binomial theorem, mechanics, gravitational theory, optics and defining the laws of motion. No other has done more to advance mankind.

Subcomandante Marcos:

Marcos, the quintessential anti-leader, insists that his black mask is a mirror, so that ‘Marcos is gay in San Francisco, black in South Africa, an Asian in Europe, a Chicano in San Ysidro, an anarchist in Spain, a Palestinian in Israel, a Mayan Indian in the streets of San Cristobal, a Jew in Germany, a Gypsy in Poland, a Mohawk in Quebec, a pacifist in Bosnia, a single woman on the Metro at 10 p.m., a peasant without land, a gang member in the slums, an unemployed worker, an unhappy student and, of course, a Zapatista in the mountains’. In other words, he is simply us: we are the leader we’ve been looking for."—Naomi Klein, Socialist Register

;)

3: Victoria:
The English queen, that created and expanded in all the world the bases of the society we all now live.
That should read "The British queen who presided over an oligarchical state which created and expanded in all the world the bases of the society we all now live." Victoria was a figurehead who had previous little to do with anything.

I mentioned Newton.

I'm pretty sure Euler and Gauss advanced maths more though.

This. Next thing you know someone's going to be saying Elizabeth I

My vote goes to Femshep

Not disputing Euler and Gauss's advances in mathematics but Newton's developments were revolutionary in maths and physics. he probably didn't do as much work for pure maths as the other two, but in the field of mechanics, the value of his work can't be underestimated.

Not to mention cat-flaps!

All the scientists. Let the politicians, historians, artists, economists, warlords etc etc hobnob and bicker. We shall discuss the nature of the universe and our planet itself.

This. The only people that deserve to talk to each other are those that push humanity forward.

Not even just the famous ones. Anybody with any love for knowledge for its own sake.

Stephenie Meyer (American; 1973 – present)
Stephanie Meyer is the author of The Twilight Saga books. She's possible the most influential person alive, so much so that not only does she have an army of teenage girls worshiping her, but her work has also led to the creation of a subculture and to real life teenagers physically biting eat each others' necks.

This. The only people that deserve to talk to each other are those that push humanity forward.
Because humanity is a cold, unfeeling machine, that seeks only formal, objective information? :mischief:

"Knowledge for its own sake" and "push humanity forward" don't go too well together.

Basic research drives applied research.

Me, of course.
