On my Civ3 Vanilla i cant find the setting to turn the grid on, i can find it on ptw and conquests but not vanilla. And i dont wanna load the save in anything other than vanilla

heres a pic of my preferences(sized right just for cyc )

on the menu? all i have is audio prefs and prefs, sorry I havent played vanilla in over a year

The main menu at the top left. Click and the menu will show map as the first option. If it doesn't, you're not playing vanilla 1.29f

holy cow Im blind.... I was searching the menu for 5 minutes and couldnt find it

Or you can use the keyboard shortcut which is Ctrl-G (don't know what that would be on a mac though).

I think on a Mac it would be Command-G.

Could everyone who posts a map or proposal/strategy use grids in the future please? Makes it a lot easier for well... just makes it easier.
