Great Basin desert. Deserts are kind of my thing. :) In terms of size, I would say it's more significant than Wyoming Desert.

Did they say Deserts would be named in the game? I did not hear that, and don't think I saw a named one on the video.

I would also add Colorado river to that list. It's a significant river for an entire region of the country. Though not something you would expect to be found next to the capital.
As a proud Pittsburgher and lifetimer in the Industrial Midwest/Upper Ohio Valley, I have to give it to my home Ohio River. ;)

A very important river as we expanded out from the 13 states at the start of our nation. I would choose that one over the Potomac river. Even if the latter is next to the current capital. Our first capital was Philadelphia which was next to the Delaware river. Though I wouldn't go with that one.

America has too many great rivers! (and mountains!) I was really torn in limiting it to only 4. Ohio and Colorado certainly would have been my next picks.

Also: the Red, Snake, Trinity, Sacramento, Hudson, Delaware, and Rio Grande. There’s too many to choose!

-> volcanoes won't be attached to a civ, like in the stream Paektu Mountain was in England's territory, and Paektu Mountain is the holy mountain of North-Korea and a volcano on the Chinese-North-Korean border. And good luck finding volcanoes in countries like Sweden, Poland or the non-colonial territories of the Netherlands.

Not entirely sure, but I think in the Firaxis live stream they said that names of geographical features will be matched to civs who discovered them in-game. However, if a civ doesn't have any such feature IRL then other names will be chosen at random from non-playing civs.

Actually they said that volcanoes are normally attached to civs, but if you don't have any the game picks one from the civs that aren't in the game instead.
