Well, in civilised countries you measure wine by the hecto-litre. In the US, maybe by the gallon, I suppose.

I might as well give it to you then, Taki. It was % of wine produced in the US. California is something on the order of 88% of gallons/hecto-litres of wine produced. New York and Washington are something like 3% and the rest are fractions of a %.
 
Actually, Erika got to the main part of the answer first. I just refined it.

(I'm also curious in an only slightly morbid manner about what type of map she can come up with)
