It's about time we got a Guitar Hero 3 thread at CFC. What level can you play on? what songs are you stuck on? which songs are your favorites? which songs have you just beat?

I beat the game on medium, and have beat 34 songs on hard. I jsut recently beat 3s and 7s, which was incredibly hard because of the way you have to switch chords. I also beat Cliffs of Dover (my favorite song in the game) on hard in the quickplay mode!!!

Right now I am stuck on that Slipknot song, and Knights of Cydonia.

Dude. You have not even heard of Through the Fire and Flames. I've seen the Youtube videos, it's HARD.

Heck, I can't even get past the first few chords. Can't get the button-pressing and strumming at the same time down. (demos)

Yes, I have heard of it, and played it, but I have not got that far on hard. I beat it on easy, but right now Through The Fire And Flames is the only song I haven't beat on medium yet.

I heard it was harder than GH2, is this true?

It's at the top of my list of games to buy but it's so difficult to get one that comes with the guitar. Need to try online....

I have only played GH 2 a few times at my friends house, but from my observations 3 is only slightly harder. Hammer Ons and Pull Offs are actually much easier in Guitar Hero 3, because it doesn't require you to time them perfectly like in number 2. The songs in 3 tend to be more difficult (in my opinion) so this evens things out.

I would personally reccomend 3 because I like it a lot better.

I'm stuck on Raining Blood on my Hard Career. I've got all the others. What makes it worse is the song only goes for a few minutes and I still can't get it

Yeah, Raining Blood has me on hard too. The end of the Metalica song was pretty though too...

I think it poetically ironic that playing guitar hero three was much harder than playing actual guitar........

I totally disagree! Think of how much you would have to practise to be able to play most of those songs on real guitar.

I had to go into practise mode and play on the slow setting to be able to get Cliffs of Dover. I only played it once on slow, and it helped so much. You should try that with Raining Blood (if you haven't already).

No.....that makes no sence, in real life, a begginer at guitar can ace smoke on the water in a day, try playing smoke on the water on extreme....I cnt even do it, but somehow on real guitar it was the first song I ever learned and I could play it fine....

Something I've found to help, better than practising the song. Play it on the difficulty just higher than the one your trying to do. It sounds weird I know but that's how I went about 5 star-ing the medium songs on GH2. Given it's the same principle for GH3 I'm guessing it'd be the same results

Thats actually a pretty good idea steviejay.

@harbringer maybe your right. I have never played real guitar in my life, but I was under the impression that it takes weeks of practise to be able to play some songs.

I just beat Through the Fire and Flames on medioum for the first time! Now I am finally completely done with medium. I also started a career on expert and beat the first four songs, and now I'm on Rock and Roll All Night. On hard I'm still stuck on Knights of Cydonia and Slipknot.

The songs really seem to have a massive jump in difficulty going from group 6 to group 7 on Hard. Damn you Muse, damn you Slipknot....

Also, whoever decided to put Raining Blood in the game is a sadist.

Raining Blood is on it?

....... damn that's just nasty. COuld be worse, could be Angel of Death :p

I never played it, but I seen people play it several times, along with two. It's probably too hard for me.
Yeah, you get good at it quickly. When I first played GHII I could hardly beat the first songs on medium, but now, a month later I can do Buckethead on hard. III's a bit harder though, but the first one is a breeze.

GH3 is pure trash. GH2 is way more polished, fun, and the song list is better. I waited in line for GH3 at midnight. What a waste. I beat it the second day (on expert). I have completely moved back down GH2 since then and sometimes 80's and GH1. I recently got my Log and my sixth expert full combo on GH2. It never looses replay value especially with the opertunity (sp?) of customs songs (something that is lacking in GH3 ftmp, atleast the simplicity).

GH 3 is an amazing game. I like it better than 2. They both have amazing songs (but I like more of the songs on 3).

Its amazing fun. Im jsut about through medium level.
