If you do that, you will lose. ;) The human tech does get better, quite fast actually. So the longer you take to wipe them out the harder and more expensive it will get.

Here is a hint, there are two nations that can and will take down the Martians if given the chance to build and raise their tech, Germany and the United States. Choose wisely young one.

The Horten Ho 229 fighter can give your Flying Machines a run for their money, and the American B-36's will pound your cities and units to scrap. The US has one hell of a production capability. I have seen fleets of 100+ B-36's pound a Martian city flat.

Great, I'll land in South America first ...:p
There are certain buildings that allow the cities to grow beyond population of 4 and also (others?) act like harbours (suddenly I have all the resources in Ireland too and I've researched only Heat Ray Frotifying).
Do Council Relay and/or Resource Exchange act like above ? Or maybe Costal Emplacement ?
In civilopedia is not mentioned. I really don't remember which one I build first (I rushed them).
    Thanks !
Did I mention how cool this mod is ? :goodjob:

    2 more thingies :)
Workers can join martian cities causing no trouble so far ....was this intened ?
Luxuries make martians happy ? (well, why not ?).
Are martians supposed to trade with humans ? (like giving horses to portugal ? :) )

    OK, they were 3...

This is more of a literature related question. In the War of the Worlds, does it mention the U.S. (Or any other country for that matter). I've always wondered about stuff like that. :)

    @Aotearoa, thanks for the feedback.

    1. No workers are not supposed to be able to join, will fix ASAP.
    2. Sure, Martians are all brain so they like their luxuries to.
    3. No Martians are not supposed to trade with the humans. If anybody knows how to prevent that let me know.
    4. The Council Relay has the Aquaduct attribute.
    5. IIRC, the Coastal Emplacement has the harbor attribute.

@Lord Malbeth, no only England is mentioned, well that and the Narrator's brother escaping to France. As far as HG was concerned as soon as the Thunderchild was sunk, the world went with it. But that is just the English world view of the time. Just like today's disaster movies do the same thing with the US.

In the book 10 flashes were seen on Mars, and there were 10 cylinders that landed in England. So if you apply a bit of military logic you can extrapolate that the Martian attack was aimed specifically at England. As an Island relatively close to the future main zone of combat, also a jumping off point for the future assault on Europe.

Now of course this is all conjecture, but it makes sense with what information HG presented in the book. I tried to keep it true to what HG presented.

    Cool. Thanks. :)

That also is a good logical explansion. England is technologically advanced, but also secluded enough too for the Martians to exploit. ;)

That has to do with the aquaduct attribute, that keeps you from building it next to a river. So avoid planting cities next to a river square.

Let's just hope it's better than the craptastic remake starring Tom Cruise.

How come every remake takes place in the U.S. I want to see one in the late 19th century England.

Thorgrimm, right now I'm making this scenario about Martains that invade England, causing King Arthur to come to the rescue. I know, it's stupid (007 will have an appearance too! :D ) Anyway, amy I use some of your civilopedia entries. I will give you proper credit. Thanks. :)

Can you provide a screenshot with the error ? Since I am pretty sure the Martian Palace is there.

@Lord Malbeth, be my guest. :D

Bloody hell, the files are all there. Why the computer is saying it can't find them I don't know. I'm unloading the zipifile again and see if that helps.
