For practical purposes I don't much care to which version of our imaginary overlords any building is dedicated in any given time but at some point some buildings achieve status of a cultural monument hence I share the Kyriakos' view that the museum use would be the best option here. Even better if it could be an anti-religion museum like the ones in the SU in 20s & 30s but in the current state of Turkey that's highly unlikely so I'd settle just with a museum. Still, as others have pointed out, it's their building so the opinion of others hardly matters.

I'm guessing that Erdogan will not dare to destroy anything, cover some perhaps. Or perhaps not even that, try to keep it both as a touristic spot and a mosque. But that won't be an easy coexistence. Plenty of mosques have tourists visit but tourists normally have to visit outside of prayer times and dress appropriately. The Hagia Sophia is one of the top tourist attractions so that also makes it more complicated.

Having diverted all their people in Justice to become judges and district attorneys , they didn't have anyone left to act as "defence" in courts . As a result Istanbul , Ankara and Izmir , the biggest cities and having 55% of all lawyers in the country will hencefort will be able to send only 4% of all delegates to any general convention of lawyers .The current secretary person was once running to lead the CHP , created so may crises with firm resistance to the PM , woved "Justice!" ... for the case of the lawyer . He wants a "Kuran kursu" in Ayasofya , a class for children teaching letters to read the Kuran and basic principles of Islam and rituals

Symbols you know . lt was also the anniversary of Lausanne Treaty which the Opposition loves to cite as the document that shows the country belongs to the Turkish Nation . Also easy to see that opening day was chosen on purpose . Al Crusading coverage offers the cover that it was a court , which the PM "supported" . You know , there are three different narratives . lt is New Turkey's right if you hear it in this country . To Americans and the like , courts decided so and it will be open to all religions . PM personally promised Putin that Christians would be allowed . To the Arab world , it is the harbinger of the freedom of El Aksa in Kudüs because "Muslims" took Ayasofya from some sort of Jews ; you would think they were promising to to liberate Kudüs , except Arabs know how Arab Warfare is conducted and pay no attention . Also hearing flags flying at half mast in Greece and priests praying the very prayer at the time lstanbul fell in 1453 ... You know , Greeks love New Turkey , as easier , they would of course support New Turkey's thing of conquest ...
