    I saw that article on Fark.com. I'm not going to spoil how it ends for everyone else, but I for one welcome our Half Ape Half Man overlords.

    Super-soldier unit is a good idea. Half-Ape makes the idea sound sort of dumb/unrealistic.

    I agree 100% with you willowmound; in the article it says that when the experiment failed the lead scientist got 5 years jail - so I dont' think Stalin thought it was a joke or 'unrealistic'.

    I agree, it was dumb and unrealistic; but back then they obviously thought it was real. :)

    I believe the article says that the guys experiments were a "total failure" so yeah it's pretty unrealistic.

    It's definitely pretty extreme, but I don't see much difference in the United State's research in to doping up our troops with LSD and acid to produce the same results.

    Yeah, this isn't a good idea. Why should we put projects where a government invested consderible amount of resources, for something near impossible to effectively do? *cough*SDI*cough*
